Would not recommend. While I understand it’s based on volunteers, the program provides a false hope. I filled out an application, did the interviews and a candidate to become a big brother to my 13 yr old son was found after almost a year of waiting. However after the meeting the big brother decided it wasn’t his thing, and that was that. No further attempts or communication, just a “we will reach out soon”. It’s been months never heard back. Poor communication, not reliable, lacks follow through.

The Process to apply for an older child is horrible. My son's background had no history of negative situations. You requested a release of medical records and his therapist advised this program would benefit my son due to his father not being present and the forms therapist filled out confirms no negative feedback. Months of waiting for updates to receive a standard generated letter of denial. ( so unpersonal)

You denied his request because why? He is too old for you (age 15)?

Thank you for helping impact my son's life isn't that your goal to help the youth not just younger children? It makes me wonder how many other older children you deny?
