The check in/check out staff makes you feel very comfortable and welcomed. Kim Herring is very intuitive and consistent. It’s always clean and no strong perfume/odors. (For those who are scent sensitive) I couldn’t ask for a better mental health environment!!! Excellent location, easy entrance/exit lots of parking spaces.

Do not take you family to this place. I took my 3 traumatized children, and myself, to Sandy at Lighthouse, for counseling, and then recommended her to my good friend (who later became my husband) for his daughter. They picked sides, (sided with his ex wife) and excluded my family from counseling after knowing confidential information about our life, and, seeing my kids for several sessions prior to taking my husbands daughter as a patient, they then continue to sneak around to see my husband's daughter, without notifying him of upcoming appointments, which is agaisnt court orders. Our family has been violated in the deepest way possible by Lighthouse, they attractively undermining the parent child relationship between my husband and his daughter, and the trust we had in therapists as a whole has been forever damaged. This is a dangerous place for families in transition, you have been warned.

I originally thought that this place would help my daughter get through some trying times that we are going through right now. Boy was I ever wrong. My daughter has been going to this place for almost a year. The first 7 months was without my consent or knowledge. When I did find out about them I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, for my daughters sake. My ex is trying to alienate me from my daughter and they are assisting and encouraging her to do so. Mike Martin called the cops to day to have me removed and banned from the premises on the grounds of my presence there is causing stress and discomfort for my daughter and her mother. Instead of doing what a therapist is suppose to do and help find a solution to the chaos and problem between the parents of a 5 year old little girl, they chose to remove one parent from the picture and further aiding the mother in the parental alienation. This place has been a nightmare. Between being very bias and unethical to assisting in parental alienation, I would not recommend this place to anyone for their children.

I went there completely afraid because I had never had counseling before, not to mention that I was terrified to talk about the abuse that had taken place in my life. Kim Herring helped me feel completely safe and at ease. Also, she helped me through my journey of overcoming the areas I felt stuck in. After our time together, I felt ready and confident to face life again. I even felt hopeful. Now I’m still doing great and it’s been 1 year since I last saw her. God was very much a part of the healing that took place and he used Kim as a light in my life. I always reccomend people to go there.

My experience with Lighthouse was mixed. I hesitate to leave a review, but counseling qualifications, philosophies, and modalities are all very confusing when you are initially in a place of crisis seeking help, and I wish I had known what I will share.

Lighthouse was very accommodating regarding scheduling, billing, etc. The counselor I interacted with was very empathetic and a good listener and patient. He provided good insights. He particularly focused on communication. I have no doubt he is a Godly man and probably most skilled at Individual counseling.

At this point, I can describe that what I was looking for/needed was integrative, BIBLICAL, marriage Counseling (all those words have specific meaning). My concerns and feedback are particular to Marital Counseling and Biblical Counseling - the two key reasons I chose/agreed to Lighthouse.

Our counselors were not specifically qualified in marital counseling. I encourage anyone with complex marital issues to consider a LMFT or LMFTA, or perhaps someone trained by the Gottman Institute. I believe that many counselors skilled in Individual Therapy may struggle to unbiasedly focus on the marriage as a client.

Secondly, just because a counselor is a Christian, does not mean that their method is Biblical (or even Integrative). Do some research. Look at ACBC, BCC, or CCEF. The underlying premises, diagnoses, methods/modalities, and ultimately content/plan are very different.

Good people. I'm sure they are helping many - and I do believe I learned/benefitted from aspects of their counsel. I just encourage you to do your homework and understand if you seeking marital counseling, or Biblical counseling - or both.

Dr.Martin and Kim have helped us tremendously to navigate through an overwhelming time in our lives. Following Christ and the Bible is the most important thing to me and I was leery of trusting unfamiliar counsel at such a vulnerable time. They have strengthened our faith as well as mental health through their wise counsel. Highly recommend them.
