I volunteered with BATA at Ida Jew elementary school and it was an amazing experience. The staff in the program were extremely welcoming and accommodating and made the whole experience easy. I was instructed on how to tutor the kids and was able to start tutoring right away. This experience taught me a lot about teaching, listening, and even learning and I would recommend it to anyone interested!.

I had a very good time tutoring for the BATA program. I believe this program is important in our communities because we offered free help to less advantaged students and parents. The community center I personally volunteered at was welcoming and I felt like I was able to make a difference in their academic careers. I have been volunteering as a tutor with Bay Area tutors for a couple of months now. The tutors are well trained and care about the success of the students. I worked with 1st and 4th graders at the rocketship discovery prep school focusing on English , but they have a variety of subjects and grades to choose from that will suit your interests. I recommend this program for anyone interested in dipping their toes in teaching or education as you get hands on experience of working with students in a classroom settings.

I had a very positive experience volunteering while part of my service learning class.
