The Arcata Community Center is well-known for its commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all community members. With a focus on fostering a sense of belonging and promoting social interaction, the center offers a variety of programs and activities catering to people of all ages and backgrounds. Some of the key features of the center include a spacious event hall, catering kitchen, and well-maintained restrooms.

In addition to hosting community events, the Arcata Community Center also serves as a sporting arena, providing a dedicated space for local teams and athletes to practice and compete. The facility is conveniently located near a park, offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities and green spaces.

However, the center has faced some challenges related to its surroundings, with concerns raised about the presence of campsites and unsanitary conditions in the nearby bushes and building exits. Despite these issues, the Arcata Community Center remains a valuable resource for the community and continues to strive to improve the overall experience for its visitors.

Excellent community center in Arcata with catering kitchen, nice restrooms, ADA parking and nearby park. Also serves as sporting arena. Fun large event space.

Nicely kept feel unsafe due to the many campsites in bushes and even around building exits with big tarps rigged for campers, loose dogs and people doing drugs...no law enforcement in sight or moving these illegal campers on..

This place is a gem . I wish every town had something like this. They allow van-lifers/ car camper/ homeless, people to park in the lots and have a port-a-potty. I stayed here for a few days and the community was chill. There are electric vehicle charging stations available as well. Someone here claimed that there are "tweakers" everywhere and that it's a sketchy place . Not my experience at all. Everyone minding their own business here

This Community Center may be the most successful and useful thing Arcata has ever pulled together. 40 years ago it was a dairy field full of cows. Now it presents a spacious and modern Community Hall with good parking and thoughtful layout. The access by car, bicycle or on foot is about as good as it gets. The ballparks, soccer fields and greens are well kept and it has an excellent kids playground with climbing wall. The seniors get fed here and the venue can support almost any group.

While the inside may be nice and the facilities up to par, the surrounding grounds and parking lot have become grounds for all types of seedy folk. Homeless tents are everywhere, trash is strewn about near the softball field, and my friend and I nearly had to break up a fight between two scumbags near the outdoor basketball court. It didn't use to be that way. My friends and I started coming to Healthsport back in 2012 and it was a nice place to go and workout. I'm not so sure anymore.

The Arcata community center is an excellent venue. I have been to many different types of events here over the years and it has always seemed well suited. The building and grounds always appear clean and we'll maintained. There is ample parking and it is located close to downtown Arcata and the bus lines.

Did the mushroom fair. Didn't know it drew such a huge crowd. Place was packed, restrooms good. What I liked best was separate room inside the building for large crowd (~60) for talks/presentations
