Best place and such friendly caring people! Love to see all the sweet dogs, even bunnies and guinea pigs! Animals well cared for and place is well staffed. Gift shop gals and volunteers are sooo wonderful and healthy pet snacks &items for sale, cheap prices too! I take my granddaughter there weekly to drop off donation and look around.

I've took my puppy here when he was about a year old for neutering (a year ago), and they did a fine job. They saw how anxious he was and took the time to calm him down before taking him back for his surgery. I've brought both my dogs back for vaccinations and again a great experience.

The waiting room is small, and my younger dog can be reactive, so I kept them outside or in the car until it was our turn to be serviced.

Last week I had an unfortunate experience with hitting a cat. I called AFV and their dispatch was kind, understanding and prompt with getting animal control on scene. It took about 20 minutes or so for animal control to arrive. Officer S. Clark was great. She was empathetic to the situation and you could tell she cares about the animals she helps. Thank you for making a terrible experience for me a little less heartbreaking.

We had the best experience adopting our sweet Bo. Everyone was so excited about us taking him home and you could tell they really care about each animal. The facility itself was so clean, the meeting and social space itself was also very clean. They also make the adoption process very formal to ensure these pets go to the right home. We are happy to share Bo is thriving and we can’t thank AFV enough.

Absolutely love how it's setup and you can adopt not only dogs but also guinea pigs, bunny's, and cats/kittens. Everyone is super friendly and the prices are amazing. Highly recommend this place if you are looking to add a new member to your family hopefully I will be adding one soon!!

I love this shelter, they have a heart for animals there. Adopted two cats from them. But I think the cat enclosures could use more quality stimulation for their cats, and also new cubbies and cat trees. Please adopt a great fur baby from them.

This place has gone so downhill! I used to really enjoy coming here to see all the animals. They have changed their policies on seeing the cats now in the front room. They keep the doors locked and it takes forever for staff to come unlock it. The pet shop they have there has also gone up in price. It used to be a great place to buy treats, toys, collars and literally anything else. Also their clinic next door used to be accessible to everyone but because they changed locations they only accept animals that were adopted from animal friends.

Overall the policies make everything harder.

Some staff are really friendly but others can come off as rude and unhelpful.

Couldn’t be happier with my experience adopting our new family member. From the moment we walked in to AFV everyone was so helpful and friendly. The facility is clean and the animals are well cared for. There are so many beautiful fur babies here, there is absolutely no reason to go to a breeder. Thank you Mo and all the amazing staff at AFV for everything.

Adopt don’t shop!

I’m making this 5 stars so it doesn’t get removed. They will make you pay $125 to help save an animal off the streets. They will also only give a cat a couple of days to acclimate, and if the cat is a cat, they will euthanize them. I think they genuinely want you to avoid bringing animals to this shelter.
