I had the best time there yesterday! They had a live band and karaoke yesterday afternoon. They also have a full bar and restaurant on site. The service was great, and the environment beautiful and inviting. All the people were fun and friendly. It was my first visit, but I truly hope not my last. Go ahead and check it out. It's right next to the Newport Yacht Club.

Eating here was a great surprise. Fortunately, but unexpectedly, the group I was riding with was hungry and someone in my group was a member. My burger was very good and the view was spectacular! Can't beat their location,

I came to the American Legion in Newport Beach on Sunday as a guest of Dr. Mike Paquette. We actually paddleboarded from Lido Island to have breakfast here. The man checking us in was a complete gentleman and we were immediately seated outside with a wonderful view of the harbor.
There were about eight items on the breakfast menu. I ordered the pancake special with bacon and scrambled eggs. Others in our group ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich the eggs benedict and the breakfast burrito and everyone thought their food was terrific!
To summarize, this is a place with nice people, good food and a great organization!

Great place to put on a small-venue event. Right on the water. Staff are super friendly and attentive. Drinks are very well priced.

Good food, great dancing music.
Plenty of room for dancing.
You must be a member or a guest of a member to attend.
Open on Friday night and Sunday. 11am to 7:30 pm for music and dancing that I'm aware of.

Post 291 is all about veterans, heritage and heroes. It is the largest American Legion Post in the US. Located bayside on 15th street on the Balboa Peninsula. We were there for their 9/11 memorial event. There were two bands and lots of activities honoring those who were lost on that tragic day 21 years ago.
