Would give 0 stars if that was an option. A close friend of mine is here and her pain medications are routinely delivered up to 2 hours late. The nurses refuse to help her adjust positions to get comfortable, saying they'll be right back and never returning, the physical therapists aren't even real PTs, they're just aides who have no education and they aren't even told what they're supposed to do. She is there for rehab and she is in a worse state due to their "care" than she was when she entered the facility. Beware and don't let anyone you care about go here.

Unfortunately I rate this facility a 2 star and I wish I can give a 5 star strictly to the physical therapy department because they excel well in giving their patients the care and motivation that's needed. There are hand picked few CNAs and nurse(s) that do their job well. They know how much we appreciated them taking great of my mom while she was there. However the lack of communication and vision for this facility does drop it to a two star place. Allowing patient(s) being discharged and being signed to the wrong " responsible party" without it being cleared with the family. Any issues/ concerns we had as a family weren't followed by any actions. Just unfortunate because I see the potential this place has to be great. Some places rather do bare minimum rather than. Excel in every department.

This rehabilitation center is not up to standard and should not be recommended. Unfortunately, my grandmother had a terrible experience there after breaking her hip and undergoing surgery during Christmas. The staff did not properly log her belongings and neglected crucial care tasks such as changing her position and providing physical therapy. Despite my daily visits, they failed to administer PT on multiple consecutive days, which was the main reason for her stay there. They also neglected basic hygiene by not changing her clothes or cleaning the room and bathroom. One of the CNAs even displayed abusive behavior, but no one would provide me with their name, and the facility conveniently misplaced the schedule for that night. As a result of their negligence in turning her out of bed, she developed bed sores. Furthermore, they misdiagnosed her with diseases she never had. If it weren't for myself, my family, and my sister, who works as a director at four other hospitals, personally attending to her every day, she might have become seriously ill or even died. It's worth noting that both of her roommates also had similar negative experiences with the level of care provided here. I strongly urge others to seek an alternative option rather than considering this facility. The RNs there were also some of the most uncaring and uneducated medical professionals we have ever encountered. We are now paying for at home care.

My aunt has been at this facility for about a week now and she has actually started going down hill since shes been there. She has Parkinson’s and it's vital that she take her medication on time as prescribed inorder to keep the Parkinson’s symptoms (tremors, rigidity, muscle pain and stiffness as well as her speach and ability to swallow without choking) at bay. She's lucky if she gets it 4 times let alone on time. If they try to give it to her early she'll tell them that it's not time yet and before she can even get a nother word out they say "ok I'll note that paitent refused the medication" as they walk away all while she's trying to get the words out to tell them to leave it and she'll take it on her own when it's time. Or they'll tell her they'll come back with it later and later never comes. Also when talking to her social worker she tells me that my aunt has bed sores and urine burn that they're treating and that she had it when she got there from the hospital. Later that day I spoke to my aunt who assured me that she had no sores when she arrived at this facility and told me that the sores were acid burns from being left in diarrhea soiled diapers for over 6 hours even though she push the call button for the nurse several times over the 6hr time span and was either ignored or told that somebody would be right back to help her. By the time she was finally helped she had acid burns. She doesn't get much sleep at night due to other patients across the hall blasting their TVs all night.
She won't let me complain to anyone about her treatment because she doesn't want anyone to get in trouble or to retaliate on her for telling .🙄😒.

Nutrition needs to get it together. Blaming others without documentation or names means it's your fault so get it together. People need meals at a timely manner.

I would not send a loved one here again. My dad was admitted after a stroke and a number of brain surgeries. They said he was not progressing and sent him home weak and dehydrated. They did not send the resources or equipment they promised. Their assessment has made the process of getting my dad into further rehab much more complicated. He has since shown good progress but would have benefitted greatly from regular PT and nursing care. He was badly cared for and inaccurately assessed.

My grandma lives here and I like how I get to visit and stay with her for hours at a time. The parking is decent. First off, every moment I get with my grandma reminds me of the days when it was just me and her with her rambling about superstitions, stories, and advice...she was mostly my caretaker growing up while mom worked, so being with her made me appreciate her stories. It also makes me happy to visit and witness the compassion SOME nurses and CNA's have. I give lots of credit to the CNA's...I witnessed one CNA really bonding and making her patient smile in the dining room today, and she didn't even see me watching. I like how they make an effort to make someone smile or talk to the patients and not ignore them due to being "busy" like most medical staff around the world. I, myself am an ER nurse in a hospital in east LA and I understand the staff when it can be overwhelming...the staff doesnt show any overwhelming stress, they all are very content and work with grace...a simple smile along the hallways is what I see, never a frowning face...and the aura of the place is fresh and calming...the place is clean and I have not witnessed something I didnt like yet..so props to housekeeping! Lastly, I'm am greatful that my loved one is staying here...she has legit good direct TV cable in her room and shares a room with an aspirating patient with gurgling sounds every so often, but my grandma doesnt mind it. Note that I'm making thia review from 11am to 3pm, this is morning shift so I dont know what happens at night... So far my grandma has not made any complaints, but we have a huge family (she has 2 sons, 8 daughters, about 32 grandkids, and 13 great grandkids) so she is frequently monitored. Thank you for all the help Alamitos West!

I brought my mom here after a horrible experience at Regency Oaks in Long Beach. This place was wonderful!!!!! Not only did they take care of the pressure sore my mom got at Regency Oaks, but they also got my mom up walking and she was able to go home after only 3 months. Everyone there is wonderful!!! They went above and beyond to help with whatever she needed and whenever she called for someone to help her, they were there right away, I think the longest she ever had to wait for someone was maybe 15 minutes. If I could give them more then 5 stars I most certainly would!!! Thank you to everyone at Alamitos West for taking such great care of my mom!! If I ever had to place her in a SNF again, this would be it without any question!!!
