I have worked in healthcare and healthcare education for more than 20 years. I had the unfortunate displeasure to be a patient into he ER twice and I have never seen such terrible patient care and poor quality. The staff was overall polite but extremely overworked and more concerned with booting people out than helping them. I was brought in by ambulance, stripped and given an Iv. I was in intense pain was the. Told that they had too many people coming on and they stood me up despite that fact that I could barely move and had me walk out and wait in the waiting room, half naked and holding my own IV. The ED waiting room was jammed packed and chaotic. A family who was in a major car accident was brought in by ambulance, some covered with blood was also placed in the waiting room.a young female child was crying and complaining of abdominal alpain and was cradling her belly. The nurse completely ignore the child and the mothers concerns. I stopped the nurse and asked why she thought it was okay to ignore this and not even do a palpation or ultrasound to check for internal bleeding, a potential life threatening injury. The nurse replied with, " she's probably okay, I have to go". Second time I came in to the ER I had an elevated blood pressure that was boarding a hypertensive crisis and was seen by an incompetent PA who had insane views on modern medicine and who truly did not listen to me or my concerns and was extremely dismissive. I'm back in the ED with a family member who should be in the room being evaluated and treated because he potentially could have a stroke or heart attack with his symptoms and be given an antihypertensive emergency medicine or antagonist or something instead of being told "we are really busy and we will call him when we have a doctor". The quality of care here is abysmal and has left me with zero faith that their employees still care about patients or proving quality care. I would not trust my life in the hands of this hospital. I want to add one more thing. When we were taken back to triage, the gurney had dirty mattress cover with hair and BLOOD on it. When we told the staff member theystill tried to get my family member to lay down on it and then acted like we were being fussy asking to remove it. They didn't even wipe the mattress down after they simply pulled the bedsheet back. How can a nurse have such a disregard for a sepsis in trying to prevent contamination and the spread of disease? Is beyond my comprehension as a healthcare worker and patient.

I’ve had many bad experiences at this hospital, but I must say you have made many changes to how you do things and treat your patients. The staff was excellent and so pleasant. There was confusion on what was wrong with me. If I may suggest give us back the bag to put our dirty clothes in and the welcome pkg with the toothpaste shampoo brush etc. I slept in my clothes the first night because I wasn’t given a gown. I was offered one after I was in bed and all comfortable. I wasn’t moving again. This visit you staff was up to date with my home meds and made sure I got them too. This has rarely ever happened. Thank your staff for me please. Jody, Jennifer, Yolanda. I’d name more if I could remember names. The one nurse I had for 3 days she was wonderful too!

The waiting area is a mess, the staff and doctors seem stressed and like it’s a burden to assist your health care needs. When I asked for the doctor about a diagnosis he was rude and angry that the nurse went to get him to answer my questions. The only person that was patient and welcoming was Courtney at the front desk.

I was impressed by the level of care, courtesy, and Professionalism from the staff and doctors. I am grateful that going in for a scary procedure, as a plus size person, I felt no embarrassment. Every step of the procedure was well explained.

On February 1st, I came into the ER with severe lower back pain. Despite the ER being extremely busy, I was treated with kindness and respect from the moment I arrived. The nurses checked on me throughout my wait, ensuring I was as comfortable as possible. When I was taken into the ER room and had to undergo a challenging procedure with a nasal tube, the staff was incredibly professional and compassionate, explaining each step and making the experience more manageable.

Once I was moved to the inpatient unit on the 4th floor, my journey at Lodi Memorial truly began. The level of care I received from the nurses, CNAs, doctors, and even staff members not directly assigned to me was beyond exceptional. Every person I encountered demonstrated genuine concern for my well-being, taking the time to listen to my concerns, explain my treatment plan, and ensure I never felt like just another patient.

I especially want to recognize Nurse Diana, who went above and beyond to care for me. For two days, she made sure I never felt alone, engaging with me beyond just the standard medical care. Even when she was reassigned, she took time out of her lunch break to check on me, encourage me to walk, and uplift my spirits when I was feeling down. Her dedication and compassion made a profound impact on my recovery, and I truly appreciate her kindness.

Additionally, I want to commend the general surgeon who followed up with me consistently, providing updates and addressing my concerns even through phone calls and texts. The level of attentiveness and care I received from both the medical and administrative teams reinstilled my trust in healthcare professionals, something that, unfortunately, I often hear negative feedback about in my line of work.

Lodi Memorial is a shining example of what healthcare should be—staffed with professionals who not only provide excellent medical care but also prioritize the human connection that is so vital in healing. I am incredibly grateful for everyone who played a role in my treatment and recovery.

The cafeteria and said that that staff was so kind as well.
