Been coming here for years with kids. Staff amazing!! I've seen so much improvement and couldn't imagine not having them!!! I moved but still make the drive so worth it!! Even front desk staff omg always on it and call right back or make sure someone calls

This is a good place if you need mental health services for your children. The office on Walnut/Central has an awesome staff! They really care about your family and ensuring your children are receiving the services they need to ensure they're able to manage and cope with any mental health related experiences they might encounter. They offer counseling services and behavioural services to ensure you and your family have the ability and skills needed to deal with any tough situation that you might encounter with your children in this life. They have been AMAZING in helping to teach my children and myself different ways to handle ourselves in some tough situations that we have encountered. This organization is wonderful.

They offer therapy services for children, if you have an emergency need for your child I DO NOT RECOMMEND! There was an incident where my child stated they would kill them selves in front of the so called trained therapist and she did nothing about it. Needless to say we never returned due to her negligence to properly follow protocol when having a suicidal client.

The door at Visalia Youth Services says they are open until 7pm, but a paper sign says 5pm. A man came out and asked if we had an appointment. I said no, but I was referred by my son's school counselor becsuse he was suicidal. He asked for the names of the school and counselor, then said he would make call and be back. He never came back. There are also 3 phone numbers. When you call one of them, you get stuck in voicemail land. Another says to dial 9 for an emergency, but no one answers. The third says to call it for emergency services, but is disconnected. Turning Point closes at 5pm too.

I guess the danger of teen suicide ends at 5pm.

This place is hit or miss. They only take Medi-cal, so they tend to serve a specific population. Because of this, they work with many families involved with CWS. It affects the type of therapy they provide as most therapists are new in the field, working on their hours, overseen by a licensed practitioner. We have had excellent therapists and very poor therapists. You are seen by whoever has availability to take on a new client. I wish they matched better by experience or specialties. There is a high turnover rate so we have had many over the years. They provide psychiatric care there, which can be nice. They do have PCIT, Parent Child Interactive Therapy which is great and I have not seen that elsewhere locally. It is worth a try, but make sure you stay involved in your child’s care.
