I had my training to become an open foster home with The Call. They did their best to prepare me for what lied ahead. No one can fully prepare you for the foster care journey until you’re in it, which is where the real benefit of training through The Call comes into play. There is a community of support from other foster families and ways to connect through support groups, meet ups, Q&A sessions, CEU trainings, group chats, and many other tools and resources to help me better understand trauma and how to advocate for the kiddos placed in my care. The Call closet is a huge resource for clothes, shoes, school supplies, meals, and other necessities for our foster families.
If you’re looking for an organization to support with your money, skills, or time, The Call is a good one.
If you’re interested in opening your home to foster care or adoption, I recommend training through The Call.

The Call in NWA not only helped prepare me to become a foster mom, but they have walked with me through every moment since. From calling me to check in, to bringing me food and clothes from the Call Closet when I get a new placement or can’t get there during open hours, they are always there to support and help. I am so grateful for the leaders and all of their help, and also for the community the Call has provided me with. It truly does take a village and The Call NWA is a huge part of my village.
