I'm not Jewish, but my friend Caryn invited me to my first Hanukkah party. I was amazed how friendly everybody was, and the female Rabbi came up and immediately introduced herself. The potluck spread was incredible, and I got to try many new foods. There was dancing, which I couldn't participate in because I'm disabled, and some games that they played. The menorah lighting was so special. What struck me more than anything with a great deal of sadness was that they had to have a security guard and the door remained locked. You either had to ring a doorbell to get in or the security guard had to let you in and all because of prejudice from a few horrible people.

I called this temple. I offered my deceased mothers collection of Jewish figurines that she painted. I was told that they wanted them and made an appointment to make arrangements to pic them up. They just left me hanging. No curtesy to tell me they change their mind or to have me deliver them.
