Went to the er today with severe chest and head pain, so bad it was making me vomit. I waited in the er for 3 hrs with no one checking on me. They were rude when I asked how much longer it would be. They kept telling me all the rooms were full and had no idea when I would be seen. Worst experience ever!! I ended up leaving and drove all the way to BRMC, where they immediately got me in. I DO NOT recommend ever using Harrison hospital!!

Came in at 10pm puking bad kidney pain and blood pressure in stage 3 range. Er dr ran every test available twice and found nothing. I asked to be discharged to see a second opinion and was refused now I have had to walk out to go seek treatment elsewhere and was told I was goin to be listed as left again medical advice and that my insurance will not be covering my visit. They did nothing for me except run the bill as high as possible!

I am absolutely upset with our ER and the way my parents and me were treated. My mom and dad set in the waiting room from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm and finally got back to a room. I went ahead and went with my mom while she got back to a room and settled. Once she got settled I went to my dad’s room to see how he was doing. I was very appalled how I was treated by my dad’s nurse. She basically kicked me out of my dad’s room. My parents were left in separate rooms with no one to support. Very disappointed in our hospital. They do not care for the patients or their family.

Went to hospital to find my 78 year old dad. Said my dad left without treatment but that wasnt true, (cant walk, no leg and weak in other), was transferred by ambulance to Branson and not informed by them...went thru a lot to find out where he was and finally someone knew. He is in better care here than at that hospital. Not saying they are all bad, just this experience definitely was. My dad wasn't in right mind and scared Im sure. Do better!!!!!

I don't even want to give a 1 star, but I have to in order to write this review. We were in Harrison on a weekend getaway staying in a cabin down by the Buffalo River. We had fallen in love with the area, and the people in town are so nice. However, our experience with the hospital ruined the entire experience and we never want to come back to this area again.
My little brother is diabetic and I took him to the ER, because he was vomiting violently and his blood sugar started rising, even though he had nothing to make it rise.
They did tests, said his ketones were elevated, gave him some samples of zofran and sent him on his way and said to come back if it got worse.
Well, it for worse. He didn't eat or drink anything, yet his sugar level kept rising and his nausea got worse. So bad, that I was afraid to drive him so we called an ambulance. They took him back, did some more tests and his ketones had risen to the point he was in DKA (Diabetic Ketoacidosis) which is a severe condition for diabetics. They decided to admit him. When I left that evening, I felt assured that the nurses really cares for the patients, and that they'd take good care of him. For the most part, they did.
However, my complaint is that the next morning, less than 10 hours after he had been transferred to the floor from the ER, I get a call that they are releasing him, to come and get him. He was still vomiting, not quite as violent, but was still vomiting about once an hour. I say vomiting...but really, nothing was coming up except occasional stomach acid.

They gave him eggs and bacon, which he didn't hold down, yet they still released him
He has been in DKA before, but nowhere near this bad. That time, they graduated him from broth and liquids, then to solid food and released him only after he was able to hold something down.

I still feel like the nurses were great and professional, and really care about the patients. I question the doctorsa decision to release him though.

We left for home, and made the curvy drive back towards home on highway 412, all the while, he was still heaving and vomiting. We got him to another hospital closer to home. We told them what happened and they were dumbfounded that they released him so soon, especially since his ketone levels was still elevated.

Honestly, I never want to return to the area. Lots can happen when your floating or hiking. God forbid we have another emergency. This is the only hospital for several counties, so there is basically no other choice except Branson.

I know the Harrison Hospital NARMC gets a lot of bad reviews and some of them are probably deserved and most probably not. My father is a cancer patient and his Oncologist is in Little Rock at UAMS. His cancer has spread to his pancreas and he was in terrible pain. My brother had taken him to the ER at UAMS and they sat in the waiting room for over 8 hours. I understand this happens when there are a lot of sick people or employee shortages. It still doesn’t change how frustrating and helpless you feel for the person in pain. I’m sure NARMC at times has had the same issues. My father finally gave up and went home in extreme pain. We then took my father to NARMC ER and he was seen by ARPN Smith who was nice and straight to the point. My father was admitted and he really received great care at NARMC. The nurses and support staff did a really good job. One CNA in particular, Chelsey, really showed kindness to my father and his nurse Levi was attentive. His pain was put under control overnight and the next day he was transported by ambulance to UAMS. I really appreciate all of the staff and how they handled my father’s treatment.

The staff I’ve encountered has been so kind. I’m currently seeing an OBGYN for my first pregnancy. She has helped easy so much anxiety and been very attentive and supportive. I have a difficult time with labs. I’m a super hard stick and tend to need an ultrasound to find a vein. The lab staff has been so wonderful during this and doesn’t poke me several times before starting. They listen and act after I tell them that I often need extra help finding a vein. I’m thankful to have this care close to home.

Updating my review, had my sweet baby here!!! Absolutely amazing nurses!!

Also just had my gallbladder removed. I was so nervous but the pre op nurses were amazing. The CRNA made me feel so safe and comfortable. The surgeon was amazing and well experienced. Love our local hospital

Do not let Rosson near you or a loved one. He doesn't care a lick for his patients and if they're on Medicare they might as well already be dead. He has negative bed side manners. He refused to allow my father to eat or have water. He had to suck the water off a wet wash cloth and wasn't allowed to have the feeding tube formula he DESPERATELY needed. Bc of Rosson my father lost 4 lbs in less than when he needed every calorie he could get to be able to receive treatment. Rosson never touched my father. He would come into the room at around 5 am. Tell his aide to write something and leave. He didn't speak to him. He didn't examine him. He just wanted him to die or go home. My father couldn't even stand up bc he was so weak from Rosson starving him for several days. I hope Rosson receives the exact care he delivers when his time comes. He directly contributed to my father's passing and he should be held accountable.
