Was in here 2007/2008 and experienced so much abuse it’s unreal. Making children go to bed without meals and being punished harshly for talking out of turn, forcing children to work in the equine center in scorching heat with hardly any hydration and punishing them when they ask for more water by making them stand facing the barn wall for 1-2 hours at a time, and implementing strict punishments such as sitting in a windowless room without being checked on for 24-48 hrs. The fact that this place is still running is astonishing. Just like Second Chance Ranch, the horrors of this place will come to light.

Don’t even worry about doing an application. They require a 90% IQ to be approved. But they won’t tell you that upfront on the application for a child to be accepted into the program.Good luck getting your child approved.I could give zero stars because children do need the structure and this is the outcome. Just an automatic you don’t qualify.

This place is horrible!!!!!!! I went here as a 15 yr old girl. You were scared to stay in your room even if you had to go to the bathroom. My first night there I was so terrified of setting the alarm off by going out of my room to the bathroom that I ended up just going to bathroom in my laundry basket. Then because I was a normal teenager I learned an inappropriate joke by another child there. I told it to another " student" and was put on " grounding". Which was were you sat at a desk facing the wall. Wasn't allowed to do anything besides read and stare at a wall. If you needed anything you had to raise you hand and Waite to be called on. At times the house parents wasn't even in the part of the house and you could sit there for hours with her hand raised. Then if you did something that they demend super bad they would lock you in a room with nothing. You never allowed to leave. Until they came to unlock the door to let you out to use the bathroom or eat. I wasn't allowed to write anyone to tell them what was going on. If I did they wouldn't send the letter and would get into trouble. School was considered as sitting in a large room with red folders separating us. We were either handed a stack of papers to do or sat in front of a computer. To be honest I can't believe that this place is still open.

Honestly, if I could rate lower, I would. I am a previous resident at the Children's Homes in Paragould. Overall, my experience there was nothing short of a terrible experience. Looking at the website after being released, I realize there is a lot of false advertising. The website and directors claim the home to be a supporting, encouraging environment. However, there are many things that go on inside, that many don't see or hear of. Constant demeaning and patronizing are a few of them. Although great claims are made, the adults and staff here provide little to no care. Except a few which are as follows. Ms. Haught and Ms. Taylor.
Over the course of my time spent here, these were the only people that seemed to care. I struggled a lot , and I'm not a bad kid. I needed some support more than anything. The home is most definitely lacking. I was not treated correctly, despite the claims of a Christian environment.
Unlike the other reviews here, that are all adults, this one is from a past resident. I know what it's like to suffer there.

My son went here with his school to help clean and organize the gym I believe it was. Before going he was very skeptical because he knew that the kiddos here was probably missing their real families and it made him very sad... He is a very sensitive young man and wants to help everyone ,so when I went to pick him up he was telling me all about his day and all the neat stuff they got to do with the kiddos there.
He said everyone was so nice to all of them and very helpful as well. He said " Mom these kids are just like me, but without homes for the while".
Although he was still sad about that fact he added that he even made friends with some of the kiddos that stay here. My heart was pleased and thankful to the Lord for giving me a son like this and also thankful to the Lord for places like this as a safety for kiddos in need. God Bless and Make Beautiful Memories!
