St Joseph Parish is a gorgeous church here in Appleton. Brother Ray’s homilies are so touching and inspiring to hear and learn from as we sit in the very complex world we live in today.

I attended a Sunday mass. It was a very beautiful church with some very lovely people, but I was very disappointed by the service. Someone should tell the Father that the sermon should be about God and not current liberal talking points. I don't believe the Father fully understood that phrasing such as "supporting marginalized groups" and "Jesus was an immigrant/refugee" (among other gems) has a political undertone to it, but the idea lends credence to the fact that leftists would like the US to accept unlimited amounts of immigrants and packaging it as a religious message veils the polarizing political element that doesn't belong in a sermon. I'd agree with the other reviewer who also said that "St. Joseph has been hit by the liturgical wrecking ball known as "the spirit of Vatican 2"" as they would not let us receive on the tongue for Communion, among other things. Again, lovely church, but I'm saddened by what I see and won't be going back again.

Wonderful community of parishioners. Able to stop by to pray throughout the day. Adoration is on Mondays. Good child/youth and adult (RCIA) classes. Worship services are on Saturday and Sundays.

It is one of the most welcoming Roman Catholic churches you'll find. Brother Ray is always prompt with his masses and makes his sermons relevant. The church community does a lot for local charities and its membership. Be sure to give some love to Snoop, Brother Ray's dog.

Attended Wed daily mass. Well attended by an older crowd. Very nice and surely holy people, but the mass has been hit by the liturgical wrecking ball known as “the spirit of Vatican 2”.

So, today, I went to St Joseph Parish of Appleton, WI.
I didn't like how whenever I looked at the girls, they were sexualizing themselves. I also sense/detected it as a form of cultural control and order (in terms of social obedience and recognition (and (therefore) coercion) (i.e., controlling/helping to control where to and to not pay attention, where to and to not be verbally and/or nonverbally social).

Feelings remembered from the experience (in general) include being scared, fearing, intimidated, nervous, anxious, alienated, and bored. Very bored.
The service was only 30% engaging (not that I necessarily want it to be personalized too much either).
Furthermore, the alienation factor had a hint of clique-like behavior to it also.

I don't recommend.
