Had some nice stuff but the staff was very rude. Got yelled at by an employee named Troy because we were looking at stuffed animals and a stuffy accidentally fell into an unnamed bin that was supposedly dog toys which made no sense as to why you would put dog toys right next to kids toys is beyond me. That interaction totally ruined the vibe for us, and i hope they see this and tell Troy he needs to have better customer service skills.

I usually keep my opinion to myself but this incident really threw me… I was in the store shopping and inadvertently overheard a patron rudely telling a worker that something there was racist and she was offended by it. I didn’t hear the whole conversation but they handled her well. IMO, she couldn’t have been too offended as she continued shopping for quite some time. I myself, appreciate the store and what they do😊

Lots of space and clothes. There's a selection of home goods and furniture as well. They had more placemats than I have ever seen in my life. Prices were a bit high on a few seasonal items.

Today was a horrible experience. The cashier was on the phone for three customers including me. She was making a hair appointment for her son which was way more important then taking care of the customers. If i did that at work I would have been fired and walked off my job. Usually I like coming here, but that was definitely not the case today. Other thrift stores appreciate my business and I will be going to them instead from now on.

To begin this review I have been going to Bethesda now Ablelight for roughly 6 years. I try and go about 2 times a week and have had no issues other than overpriced items until today. Today I was shopping around per usual and found an Ice Maker. Your standard Ice Maker that you dump some water into and it’ll make little ice cubes. Well this item was listed as 5.99 and I thought. “Wow, my mom would love this!” As I am looking around at other items and such a worker from the back room comes walking towards me and VERY loudly goes, “Hey did you take the Ice Maker?” I then say, “Absolutely, great deal!” He then grabs my cart, stops me from going to the check out and says, “ Oh no that isn’t the right price I looked it up and had it out for $45.” I thought to myself, “ Um, what is this guy talking about.” He then proceeded to take off the 5.99 sticker on ice maker and replace it with one he hand wrote that said $19.99. I then in complete confusion say, “ $20, That is absolutely not okay, I am not paying $20 for an item that was 5.99.” He then without my permission grabs it out of my cart, pushes my cart and takes it to the back. I was APPALLED! How is this type of employee allowed to work with people. Not only is the entrapment of a customer not okay, the changing of prices, rude attitude and lack of respect was unacceptable. I now after 6 years of coming here am no longer giving this company my business. I still cannot get over how someone does that. If an employee doesn’t agree with another employees pricing, deal with it. Don’t make it your mission to harass customers! I guarantee that $20 doesn’t go in that workers pocket, but he made it seem like I would get hurt if I continued walking. This place used to be good, but is now no longer worth the stop. I value respect and this place has none.
