Harvest Compassion is a blessing to our Arizona community. Their locations are clean, bright and feel like stores. The staff and volunteers are friendly, kind and fun. You can tell when you are there everyone is welcomed and they have such a nice selection of clothing, hygiene items and food. I have brought clients in, volunteered there and have been involved with their team through out the years. Nicolee and Paul, their family and team of friends who serve at these centers have the most beautiful hearts to serve others. Christmas is always my favorite time to go there, it is amazing what they are able to do to help out children and families in need of support during the holidays! Highly recommend this amazing organization. ?

They offer really good food, even some frozen meat and veggie/fruit options and hygiene options. You can get a outfit for yourself and your child. It's like a one stop shop and the volunteers are really friendly and helpful.

I can't say enough good things about Harvest Compassion Centers, the family who founded it, and the wonderful volunteers who give their time each week. These folks are selflessly driven to help... like in their DNA driven. One of the things that has always impressed me is that they will find a way. If someone is in need and HCC doesn't have the resources to assist them, they will tap into their network of resources and and help folks get to the right resources. If you know a family that's struggling, help them get over to one of the centers. They will be welcomed with kindness, compassion and open arms. And the holidays are coming... the busiest time of the year for HCC. Now is a great time to clean out your closets and donate some shoes and clothing. Food donations are welcomed and appreciated. A donation of your time would be much appreciated as well.

This place is really nice BUT here’s the catch- you can be turned away if you don’t bring back the bag they gave you! And this just happened to me and I really could use the help with food this week. It’s literally the only pantry closest to me that’s open. Other pantries in other zips won’t always accept you, and I can’t afford to drive farther to get turned away again, it has happened to me before.
AND it’s supposed to be a church I think, representing Jesus? Yeah ok? Jesus didn’t behave this way, it’s such a Pharisee practice. Harvest compassion? Compassion where?

They give you a bag on your first visit which. And you have to make sure that if you ever return, you bring the bag with you. Some people lose and forget things. I haven’t been to this place in a while, maybe a few months. And on my second visit today, the lady literally turned me away because I did not have THEIR bag that they gave me. It’s the dumbest requirement. I asked her, what if I bring my own bag. Still a no. She was like, well I can look up when the last time is that you came here, if it’s been a year then you can come in, if not, then we can’t. She said I’m sorry as I walked away and I said no you’re not. And then she carried on talking with the next guest. I drove 20 minutes one way just to get there. Waited in line as well. Then drove 20 minutes back home empty handed. Money and gas are so tight for me right now until my next paycheck.

Update: Her name is Mary. I called to inform her I left a review and I shared my opinions on the matter, she said well that’s our policy. And I said I can’t believe you’re enforcing a policy like this at a pantry, I hope you think about this when you lay your head on your pillow tonight. And then toward the end as I was still talking, she hung up on me.
Remembering a bag isn’t that simple for some peoples lives. Life happens. And they really turn people away, even if they would offer to bring their own bag. Makes zero sense. I’d like to know why they have this policy in place.

Update: I was able to reach out to the executive director of HCC but she blocked me. So when I get the time, I will be taking efforts to reach out to all of their partners as well as news stations to highlight this policy they have and how they turn people away if they don’t come with an HCC bag. I think it’s a policy that is discriminatory and unfair. I have attached screenshots of my attempt to reach the executive director as well.

I was one of the patrons that was able to do a walk-in first time sign up, very welcoming and understanding to my situation, assumptive helping to my situation they help out the homeless as well as food nutrition assistance for housed low income future members amplified information that can help you gain multiple opportunities depending on your situation understanding and compassionate

I enjoy volunteering at this location! Paul and the rest of the staff are very welcoming and respectful. It is pretty fun you get to meet new people while also helping others. This is the first well-maintained center I’ve been too. When applying to become a volunteer its very simple you just fill out a form and they give you a schedule and ask you what available times can you come. I’ve been going every Tuesday but since I have summer school they’ve been able to work with me to make sure I still can multitask with school and volunteering.
