We have been working with Sherry for almost 10 years. She has literally taught 4 of my dyslexic kids how to read and how to have confidence as a student. Sherry is very patient, very kind, very loving and cares deeply for her students. My kids LOVE her VERY much and feel like she is part of the family. We are very thankful for all that she does for us and would recommend her for any family that could use some extra support.

Sherry has been a tremendous help for my daughter's dyslexia. My daughter was struggling with reading and her test scores showed only a little growth from Kindergarten to 2nd grade. We'd been trying extra reading practice at home and even signed her up for an after school intensive reading program which still didn't seem to help much. We then decided to meet with Sherry and after she tested my daughter, we realized that my daughter had been struggling with dyslexia. Once she started working with Sherry we quickly saw improvements in her test scores, she started to enjoy reading and she was so happy that she was finally "getting it." Our daughter is very active and can have a hard time focusing, but Sherry has been incredibly patient with her and has lots of strategies up her sleeve to help her stay on task. My daughter is now in 5th grade and reading long and difficult words very comfortably on her own! I would highly recommend Sherry!

Sherry tutored my 16 year old son, and it helped take him from hardly being able to read aloud to confidently reading unfamiliar material. She was also friendly, professional, and very responsive. I highly recommend her as a tutor 🙂

My son has been going here since January 2020 and we adore her. Sherry is very professional but she's comforting meaning even though they are doing work she has my son enjoying himself. Not only have I seen progress with my sons reading, spelling, writing sentences and fluency my son absolutely loves and looks forward to his tutoring sessions. My daughter has been working with Sherry Wootan for the last year and a half using the Barton method. We began realizing my daughter might need additional support when I would mention that it was time to do her nightly reading in kindergarten. These requests to read would often result in my daughter in tears on the floor. Over the course of the last 12 months, my daughter has built her confidence in reading, enjoys practicing writing and spelling and looks forward to reading chapter books. I am grateful to Sherry and the Barton method for the increased confidence she has shown over her time and her excitement in learning through reading.

As a teacher I've watched Sherry work with and help many students that were in my classroom and school. She also helped my son overcome reading challenges with a program based in the orton gillingham method of learning to read. She deeply cares for her students. It was well worth it to have my son go through the program Sherry offers to have the solid foundation of reading that he was completely missing with what was being offered in traditional school. The sooner a child gets help for reading difficulties the better. If your son or daughter needs help please don't delay! I can't urge you enough to say that the program Sherry uses and her dedication to a high quality experience will add confidence and results to your child's reading ability.
