My wife and I love Marion Community Foundation (MCF). They helped us set up a memorial scholarship fund in our daughter’s name 21 years ago. Our fund is a donor advised fund, so we have our own committee that we participate in to select the recipients. MCF takes care of all the legal stuff, investing, organizing the applications, etc. They have been very receptive to our suggestions over the years. Our scholarship will go on forever helping to keep our daughter’s memory alive.

I am thankful for the MCF allowing Pleasant to set up a fund to assist teachers in purchasing items needed in their classrooms (versus so many teachers spending their own earned funds to do so).
Special thanks to Pleasant BOE member Annette Holler for having the vision to create this endowment. These funds will ensure that the staff has the needed classroom items to help their students grow in both knowledge and life skills!

Marion Community Foundation is a lifeline for the Marion Community. Our youth, non-profit organizations, and business is a fruition due to the Foundation. Peace and Freedom Committee has received grants that has allowed us to mentor youth, empower women and to be able to impact a diverse community through our Martin Luther King Breakfast Celebration.
