We are hooked on Sauder Village! We came for a homeschool day in August and immediately decided to get a membership. My kids ask to come back almost every week.
We love the mix in history from pioneers, to homesteaders, to the 1800s village and the 1920s street. The different staff that work at each building are so informative and weโ€™ve learned so much at each visit. And itโ€™s inspired my kids into trades and hobbies they never would have thought of before.

A visit to Sauder Village is wonderful with family and friends- luckily, there are many discounts for tickets so keep that in mind if you are a student or AAA holder.

First we did the horse trolley ride around Sauder Village which took about 15/20 minutes. It is a great way to see Sauder Village! I have been to visit Sauder many times and this was the first time I had the horse trolley ride.

The train is another great way to see Sauder- take the train from the newer โ€œ1920โ€™sโ€ town, to the secondary stop of its open ( near the museum rear entrance).

Thereโ€™s many shops to buy from, lots of history to learn and the Barn restaurant is next door.

I highly recommend the museum as well!

Thereโ€™s chickens, ducks, sheep, cats, pigs, cows but you cannot feed them.

Overall this is a wonderful place to learn in real time about life from the past!

Best historic village I have visited. Artisans in every shop. Organist in the church. Excellent buffet restaurant. Great little Bakery. We even watched an old-fashioned baseball game. Highly recommend for couples and families.

Took 2 days to see the place. Almost every exhibit had a costumed interpreter with it. They were all very good and just very likeable people. We all enjoyed talking with them. Really enjoyed the ice cream and shakes at the 1920s pharmacy.

I love this village. I remember going as a kid when I was younger. When I lived in Ohio a few years ago, I had a membership here and loved every minute I had it.

I love the trades, villages and living history. I have even taken a coopering class here. Walked out with a wonderful bucket.

This weekend, I got to see the historic downtown. Attached are some photos from there.

Historic Sauder Village has 110 structures on 239 acres. Erie Sauder invented the furniture you find in almost all box stores that you assemble yourself. Almost every Historic building has a docent or craftsman plying their trade and most in period dress. You can ride a train from one end to the other. The buildings are from the early 1800's to the 1920's and filled with incredible artifacts and displays. Their is also a nice RV Park and Inn. Even restaurants and bakeries.

Love the history and demonstrations. The location is clean with pots of bathrooms for kids who constantly need to go. And don't forget to check out the ice cream shop and the new candy shop in the 1920s strip. Yum!

I can t say enough how awesome this campground is... everything is within walking distance. We were right across from the splash pad which my kids loved. The campground is quite with plenty to do. The sites are are large and the new section is all full hookup. The village was alot bigger than we thought and it pleasantly surprised us. We will most definitely will be coming back here again
