I am assigning a rating of one star to the swim coaches and programs. My daughter's participation in their swim program yielded disappointing results. A significant issue was the instructors, who were predominantly teenagers serving as lifeguards rather than certified trainers. The instructor assigned to my daughter demonstrated habitual tardiness, arriving five minutes late and ending classes five minutes early, which effectively shortened the class duration to twenty minutes. Additionally, the instructor rarely provided in-water guidance, instead instructing children to swim from one corner to another. Throughout the eight-month period, I observed no discernible improvement in my daughter's swimming abilities, and my concerns were consistently disregarded, prompting no meaningful action. The program's emphasis appears to be on advancing students through levels rather than providing adequate coaching and assessing their skills. In conclusion, I believe this program to be a wasteful expenditure of time and resources. I advise parents to explore alternative options for swimming instruction, given its importance as a life-saving skill.

New YMCA in Indian Land next to the Publix Grocery Store. Tremendous facility featuring a large Pool,Exercise Room, Gymnasium, Child Care and Aerobics/Yoga studios. Gorgeous and highly functional. Staff is warm and welcoming. A great community addition.

As far as equipment goes, it's a pretty good gym. It is new so it has updated equipment and no rusty stuff. Now, it is a very small gym which means it's always packed practically 24/7 from what I've seen at least and I go 5/7 days a week. But the people there I've only have good interactions with and all in all a pretty good gym. Only problem I have with it is it's small so not much space like anywhere and not as much good machines as other gyms like crunch and LA or planet fitness.

Please bring the gray containers with the wet wipes back!!! They are much more convenient to clean the equipment as opposed to getting a dry towel and spraying it using a bottle where everybody’s hand prints and germs exist on it!

Hello, I have been a member of the YMCA for about seven years. During this time, YMCA has helped me a lot mentally, physically and emotionally. I have been a member of YMCA Indian Land for about a year now and I am very happy here. And I spend my happy days here. For this reason, I try to help by working as a lifeguard. Sincerely Pezhman

Nice facility, but consistently there is no soap in most bathrooms and no hand sanitizer. With the number of people coming through the facility, these should be a priority.
Update: The facility contacted me to assure that they would rectify this situation. I appreciate the response.

I love the gym and staff. However, I do agree with many of the reviews here: The workout room could be a bit larger and a bit more spaced out. It gets very crowed, especially when teens take over. Also, I wish there were changing rooms in the women’s locker room. I used to belong to the Brace YMCA in Charlotte. I thought this facility was going to be similar to Brace. They have changing rooms. They also have an eat-in area where we could sit and have a bite to eat and a drink (refreshments, water, coffee or tea). Being disabled, taking a break was nice. It was very nice and accommodating. They also have a steam room, which I loved. I’m disappointed that this Y doesn’t have one. Brace has amenities that I thought this Y would also have. I wish we could use our membership in other Y facilities throughout Charlotte. Other than what I’ve shared, this Y is a nice, clean facility with a wonderful, friendly staff. I will continue coming here since it’s the closet to where I live, and I do like it a lot.
