I wish I could give Zero stars because this experience was nothing short of a nightmare. The therapist I was assigned was not only unprofessional but openly racist and made inappropriate political comments, including discussing Donald Trump during our very first session. I was appalled by the lack of professionalism and sensitivity. To make matters worse, Thriveworks has been engaging in what I can only describe as outright fraud. Appointments were repeatedly scheduled and then canceled without any proper explanation, and I was still charged for sessions I never received. I have been relentlessly calling and emailing Thriveworks for over two weeks, trying to resolve this issue, but I’ve been met with nothing but delays, excuses, and being passed around from one unhelpful representative to another. It’s clear this company has no regard for its clients or ethical business practices. They’re not only ripping people off but refusing to take accountability for their actions. I am beyond frustrated and highly urge anyone seeking therapy to avoid Thriveworks at all costs. This company is a scam, and they should be held accountable for their actions.

I worked with Thriveworks since February. In November, I received a charge on my card on file for the self pay amount. I assumed this was a mistake and called to have my insurance billed. I did not receive a refund.

On November 27, I received an e-mail saying my insurance no longer covered my visits. I called Thriveworks to confirm. Apparently, they stopped accepting my insurance on November 1. I had not been notified in any way until that e-mail on the 27th. I was not given a list of providers that accept my insurance I could switch to, nor the opportunity to have a wrap up session with my therapist. I am on SSDI and do not have $135 to spare, especially near the holidays.

This unexpected charge and losing my therapist has been disastrous to me. I am so disappointed.

I have been on a personal healing journey with a good amount of success but I am resistant to standard “therapy” since I have not had good experiences with it and I almost feel like it’s been damaging in many respects not just to me but to others. That was not the case with my first session with Esteban. Unfortunately he’s not able to provide the kind of therapy (EMDR) I’m seeking which was recommended by my coaches because EMDR is in person and mistakenly the site told me he was near to me when he’s in fact in another state. Esteban was kind, patient, very professional and made me feel heard. I’m confident that he will help me find the provider I need so that I can proceed with the next phase of healing. I’ve known people who had complete resolution after only two sessions so I’m really looking forward to catapulting my healing in this way. Thank you Esteban.
