My experience here was horrible actually! When I first got there, there were two people in front of me. I patiently waited for the older man to service them, but when it came to me he acted as if he didn’t see me. I finally asked him after just standing there, do I need to be elsewhere? He doesn’t even really acknowledge me still but instead asked what I was looking for with this look on his face as if I was bothering him. He then gives me false information to help me serve my purpose of being there in the first place. I ended up having to return to the desk where he continued to act as if I didn’t exist when I know he was aware of my presence on both occasions of me standing right in front of him. I waited patiently for an older lady with dread locks to finish her conversation with other co-workers. I then let her know why I was there and she let me know she could assist me. I asked her why the man out front acted as if he couldn’t see me, she then gave me an excuse that made no sense then told me to let the supervisor know who was nowhere in sight. OKAY! So she begins to service me at an open kiosk out front. Okay! As she’s assisting me, a insanely rude young man approached the kiosk, as if I wasn’t even standing there, he then proceeded to go back and forth with the YMCA employee who was telling him that she will assist him once she was done with me. I then chime in because he was getting amped up even more, and unfortunately, as many MEN that were present, everyone just stood around and watched, even the male employee's. The lady then asked him to leave and his way out he was giving middle fingers and being combative. I was a bit intimidated to leave. Anyways, she finished assisting me and I left. I’m really hoping I’m not placing my child in an unsafe environment.

Hours are abysmal. Pool hours are even worse. You have basically an hour and a half on weekdays since the swim team hogs the pool all night, and you probably won't even get a lane to yourself. Total ripoff

Has a lot of stuff to offer for sure, I loved it. Very large facility. I enjoyed it a lot, but they charge a lot of money if you can't make a payment. I was broke when I got out of the military, and they kept charging me over and over. By the time I had put money into my bank account, I was charged a lot on top of the regular fee, 3 different times, and eventually had to cancel the membership. I was broke and having other people pay for my fuel so I could get to work. Wish the YMCA had some sort of discount for disabled veterans or any veteran for that matter. But like any gym, they only care about getting your money, even if the people working there are really good people. Not as bad as Planet Fitness is with wanting your money tough...

Despite the lack of an instructor today and thanks to the team to aloud us to use the room, we utilized our time effectively and had an incredible 45-minute HIIT session also thanks to the expertise of the Y's instructors.

I always get in a good workout in. I especially love the women’s workout room and the sauna. I really appreciate how much this facility is doing for the community, especially the youth in our city. I just wish they offered a teachers discount to the local schools.

All the basketball are not up and working properly…. And never have space for the younger kids to practice.

I really like this YMCA. The staff there is super friendly and helpful, and I've felt like the ones I've interacted with regularly (especially Cierra!) really care about you reaching your fitness goals and having good workouts. When you sign up, you get a few sessions of training with a wellness coach where they ask you your goals and help you make a workout. I joined in June and told my coach, Cierra, that I wanted to be able to do an unassisted pull up. In November, I finally achieved it, just by doing the workouts 1-2 times a week that she suggested when I joined, and I've been wanting to be able to do pull ups for years! I was really happy about that.
As far as the facilities, I also like that the pool and saunas are available and well maintained. I've enjoyed all the classes I've been to, and the greenery outside the Y and closeness to Hanes Park is nice for getting out and running on the track.
Last but not least, they recently added some really nice high tables with power outlets underneath that I love studying at. I'm a grad student, and studying is my primary activity in life haha, and my daily routines usually involve studying at the nice tables in the main area all day and enjoying the company and coffee, then going to do reps in the workout areas or an exercise class as study breaks. The only thing the Y is missing is food, but I understand why, because if they did have food, I would never leave 🙂

There are dudes who will not touch equipment for over 30 minutes and the pitch a fit that they're using it.

A lot of the clientele are rude and equipment hogs.
