Our family has had quite a journey. The fact that we're still together is a blessing. A huge part of that we owe to Families Together. I remember the day we met our original housing case worker she was AMAZING! Her name was Molly. As we talked with her it dawned upon me just how rough the terrain had been for us trying to number one stay together and number two keep a roof over our head. Our home was abruptly torn down by the landlord due to mold and mildew. If you can imagine having two sons,a husband and being wheelchair boun with serious medical conditions. You're trying to keep your hotel room having to choose between the room, prescription copays and food. And even worse being at a hotel that puts you out of your room if your $2.79 short on the room cost. So now you're standing outside with your children trying to figure out how to get the rest of the money. At this particular establishment the owner didn't care if he had women and children actually sleeping under the outdoor staircases. Then your child looks at you and says it's alright mom as long as we're together. Imagine getting the call saying that we can head on over to the hotel on the set date. I remember crying. It meant no more struggling to keep your children inside a safe place. Fast forward to now. We've got an awesome housing case worker named Dante. I'm a bit much to deal with but he stands strong ready willing and able to help our family get through this transition. He's so devoted to helping his families find housing, help us find resources and ways to sustain our housing and did I mention be a listening ear, reassure you that everything is going to be alright and most importantly remind you that you're not alone. Dante has been such a strong positive role model to our son. We are thankful for him. Then there's Ms Karen. Where does she get her energy and patience from? She works so diligently to find housing. Also responding to nervous clients like myself worried that we won't find a home. Ms Karen told me that I will find you housing and yes she did. And to think that Lisa takes the time out of her very busy schedule to reach out to you. I can't tell you enough how she has helped ease a mother's worrying mind about some things in regards to our family. Lisa doesn't mind getting in there right with you and help to solve the issue at hand. She's such a very calm person considering that she's a hands on director of this magnificent organization. We went to see our new home and we were blown away! I cried for 20 minutes. The hard work that has gone into this home is so appreciated. Our homes entire look overwhelmed us. Needless to say that my husband sat on the sofa. Dante and I looked over and he was sleeping. We know none of this would've been possible without the people who donate their money and the people who donate their time. We the Anderson Tribe say THANK YOU!
🌞 Everyday is a good day, some are just better than others. 🌞MA 🏡💙

If there was a billion stars to rate this wonderful organization, I would rate it the highest. They took my family in, it was right down the road from my amazing job. The most valuable thing they taught us was to be SELF SUFFICIENT & INDEPENDENT!
My family now lives in a 2 bedroom apartment in our name and by working with them I became eligible for Wheels4HOPE. As it stands I got to orientation at the end of the month and in a few months they will have a vehicle ready for me, that will be MINE! So that we can get more out of long trips to the grocery store, so we dont have to be out in the weather everywhere we go. Jasmine, Andrea, Harriet, Karen, and the rest of the staff, Thank you for teaching us that there is a helping hand there to pull you out of defeat, if you're willing to work for it! God truly blessed us bc we prayed and you all scooped us up!
Thank you, thank you THANK YOU for all you have done for us and your continued support! You guys are surely a Godsend!!! 💖💖💖😁
