Broyhill Home is a part of the ministry of Baptist Children’s Homes of NC. They seek to offer a safe haven for children in times of crisis. They offer hope, nurture and support to children through their cottages. Please pray for this ministry, the staff and most of all the children/families.

As a person who lived here for the longer part of my childhood I rate it above all else. And, yes I have been there to visit and show support recently. I hold this place above all others and the facilities and staff are top notch. Most of the staff are still there from when I was in care. For troubled or neglected children there is no safer, welcoming and supportive environment. Amazing place and truly a blessing for me.

I was sent here when I was little, trust me you don't want to send your kids here.
They will be psychologically abused, and if they aren't Christian they will be punished for it.
I know because I was.
I spent time in both Carolina and wilde cottage and have tons of horrible memories from both of them.

To any social workers or parents reading this:
DO NOT send your kids here.
I was put in the teenage girl cottage at 17 in 2020. I arrived at 9PM and was immediately told ripped jeans are not allowed. You are allowed one 20-minute out-only (with a social worker approved number) call a day, from 6-8. A male staff entered my room with my sister after knocking once, with no one else downstairs. Another male houseparent would constantly scream - at us for not cleaning well enough, about immigrants, everything. We weren't allowed to watch the news during the summer. The lead supervisor staff Vicky discouraged me from leaving and said I was selfish for not sticking it out for the younger kids. She also told another girl who left that she was never going to get anywhere in life. We were told to address the second lead supervisor demanding me and my sister say "yes, SIR" on the second week or we would have "hours of cleaning" as punishment, which was routinely used.

My daughter stayed here a while back because her mother chose to leave her there, bill and alicia and lou treated her very very poorly. No kid is perfect and from time to she would talk back but there were others there that were way worse and they let them get away with everything. They would make my daughter stay up late hours of the night to clean and one time bill woke her at 3 a.m and poured pepper all over the kitchen and made her clean it up.... There were many other incidents. This place should be shut down because they aren't as "christian" as they let on. Bill and Alicia and Lou God was watching you then and still is now and you will have to answer for how poorly you treated my child!!

Hello my name is Kayla Weber, formally Dellinger.....I spent some time at Broyhill in the Blanton Girls Cottage... My experience was a pleasant one. I left in 2005. Mr.Bill and Mrs. Alicia and their son Matthew were nothing but kind to us girls. I dont think that would change. They made me feel more accepted and more like myself than I hadn't felt since I was taken from my mother and my father didnt know what to do with me other than discard me for the family he had made. I wouldn't be half the person I am or mother without them. To say ill things about them is wrong. They're good people. I'm living because of them. I have 4 boys and have been married for over 10 years... I never thought I would have that for myself.
