Good food, casual atmosphere and the friendliest, most welcoming service we've ever had. We stayed in Maggie four days, and came to Salty Dog 3 of those days ( they were closed one)! Sure our server served our meals but she also served us great tips on where to go in town and the region, and made us feel truly welcome and appreciated- that is genuine hospitality, southern or otherwise! Thank you E we will be back!

Just had a cheeseburger and fries. Really good and great taste, texture.
Loud, really loud. You get that in a bar. Drunks yelling instead of talking. Other than that 👍

Only come here if you want something other than what you ordered. I ordered jumbo shrimp she gave me popcorn. I ordered a sugar rim on my margarita but got salt. Oh but don’t you worry your husband will get everything he needs! Also if you order anything to drink expect to wait 15-20 mins! But don’t worry your husbands beer will be out in 2 mins! Also they’ll laugh at your first choice of drink which was a Bahama mama. Will never return. Music was good though! Food was salty anyways just like I am about my shrimp! 3 drink 2 meals $80 at least get my order right.

My kid and I dropped in to order takeout. We sat unnoticed for about 10 min before I finally got up and went to the bar asking for service. Once noticed, we were able to place our order for take out. We both opted for the Grilled shrimp. My kid chose fries and mac n cheese for her sides. I chose the green beans and baked potato.
The grilled shrimp had a nice solid coating of butter, they were cooked perfectly. However, we both joked that non of our food was salty enough for a place called "Salty Dogs". So we did have to season ourselves. The green beans had small bits of bacon, again not salty, rather bland on their own. My baked potato was soft and delicious. My kid ate their fries over their mac n cheese. So I can't attest for that.
We did try calling in for a takeout order, but never did get through. It would seem an online ordering system would be a good investment for this place. 👍

Went to salty dogs for the first time, and was able to walk through the back door. As I entered the first thing I saw was a phatass booty white girl. Turns out she was the cook. I had the grouper sandwich and it was wonderful. Met the owner, and she was really nice. Highly recommend. I will be back.

Laid back comfortable atmosphere with fast and friendly server's. The menu has many choices and all are good choices. I had the mountain trout with their fresh cut fries and freshly made cole slaw. The trout covered the entire dish and was delicious. Loved the fries and cole slaw. Also had the coconut shrimp as an appetizer. I regretted that after seeing the size if the trout....lol. Jennifer was my server and she was friendly and courteous and checked on me several times and made good recommendations for me to try. Restaurant was clean and lots of nostalgic hanging up throughout the restaurant.

I ordered a fried fish sandwich and fries. Loved the fries but the fish was disgusting. I am not a picky person and am a foodie so I feel inclined to comment. I couldn't even take a bite ! I sent it back and it came back just as bad 😔 still didn't take a bite and I was starving. So that right there says a LOT !! Even after they fried and refried it it was slimy and stinky. I spoke with the manager who was very accommodating. However, I asked her if she would eat that and she said no that she didn't eat fish. She offered several times to make me something else and proceeded to promote the blackened fish because she loves it. So apparently she does eat fish lol. I let them make me a BLT to go but didn't trust to eat that either after I complained so hardly 😩 They didn't charge me for it but I would have risked arrest before I would have paid for that. After finishing my drink I noticed that the ice smelled like their bathroom 😭 they were nice about it all so I did leave a fair tip considering. Definitely not the over $8.00 that was suggested on the receipt. Hopefully they were just having a bad day, however, I wouldn't eat there again if I were dying !!!

Fun little gem! We stopped after a day of riding and found this quaint little bar. Great people and likely the coldest beer in town!
