Super disappointed with our brunch experience today. We made a reservation for my husband’s birthday at 11am and arrived on time. We waited 5 minutes in the lobby with another couple before anyone appeared and asked how they can help us (no apology for the wait). We were seated and were not visited by our server for another 10 minutes. We asked to see the drink menu and were told that “in the state of NC it’s illegal to sell alcohol before noon” we politely informed the server that this is incorrect (a quick google search tells you this and I’ve also worked at other restaurants in town that all begin serving alcohol before noon). If this is just restaurant policy, that’s fine, I just feel like they should be honest instead of spreading misinformation and maybe include on the website that they don’t serve alcohol before noon bc we would’ve made a later reservation if we’d known. I ordered a breakfast tea that wasn’t brought to me until 11:30 and it was earl gray. I got the steak frites for $32 and it was the smallest portion of steak I’ve ever seen for steak frites. All in all, we paid $65 for 2 meals, one side, and a tea and left feeling hungry. The wait staff and manager were also pretty disengaged/unprofessional, chatting with each other on the floor and on their phones for most of the time we were there. There were only 3 tables and the level of service was poor. We’ve been to the swag for dinner and had such a wonderful experience especially in regards to service. I hope cataloochee ranch is able to improve their dining experience because it is a beautiful property.

We recently had lunch at Cataloochee Ranch, from the moment we were seated the staff went above and beyond to make our dining experience exceptional. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. They provided excellent recommendations from the menu and made sure our drinks were always
refreshed without us having to ask. The staffs professionalism and warm demeanor added a special touch to our afternoon.
The food was absolutely delicious, with beautifully presented dishes and flavors that did not disappoint . The mountain views and the elegant atmosphere made for a perfect dining experience. We had the pleasure of meeting Laine and Robbie they provided impeccable service that truly stood out. This is our third time dining here and the experience never disappoints !

Loved our stay here. Recently underwent renovations and joined the luxury chain Relais and Chateau. We stayed in the Haywood cabin which was perfect for our group of 5. Two king bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, porches, living area with pull out couch, and fireplace. Modern decor and comfy touches throughout like the heated floors in the bathroom. We also had an amazing view of the mountains.

We had the pleasure of trying all the menus at Switchback Restaurant - breakfast, brunch, and dinner. Food was local and tasty. Vibe was lodge chic.

Took advantage of the hiking trails as well. Did the Salamander Falls and Meadow trails. Great scenery and went right past the pasture with horses, which were so sweet.

Most importantly, the staff were all incredible. Everyone was pleasant and accommodating. They made it so easy to communicate requests both before and during our stay. Thanks for a great time!

I would give this beautiful place 100 stars if I could. Absolutely beautiful property, amazing food, and the staff are all top notch!!! The friendliest, most thoughtful, go above and beyond staff you’ll ever find!! They treat you like family. Not one detail was lost when designing this property. We will be back over and over again! Thank y’all!!

We did not stay on the property but made a day trip from Asheville. All of the staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. Customer service was on another level. The property is gorgeous. We have two small children so opted for the Utv tour of the property. Noah was our guide and did a great job. Lexi helped us with our activities and was also very helpful. We had brunch at the restaurant, food and atmosphere was top notch. Then we did a little fishing with the complimentary fishing tackle. Garrett was the fishing guide and helped get us on some fish. Looking forward to staying on property in the future. Thank you for a great experience!

Beautiful spot with spacious yet cozy restaurant/sitting room/bar aesthetically restored from old barn with original stone walls and timbers. Lots of nooks and crannies outside for hangouts and overlooks of property. Excellent food very reasonably priced and locally sourced. A hidden gem. A steep climb from the valley, but well worth it. High quality bar with homemade syrups and bitters and knowledgeable staff. A truly enjoyable escape into rural comfort.

The staff is extremely well-trained and attentive. The location is convenient (30 minutes off I-40) and the cabin was awesome. Also, Cataloochie is a bit of a foodie place, as the meals were excellent. By the way, the tap water is the best I have ever tasted, knowing the resort can't take credit for its water table. All amenities not yet completed, but almost everything should be ready within the next year, so that will add to the experience.

Cataloochee Ranch is the perfect mountain getaway with panoramic views of the Smokies!||||Kim gave us a warm welcome and made us feel right at home, right away. We enjoyed a craft cocktail upon check-in, as well as a tour of the Ranch House.||||The accommodations were exceptional - all the modern and upscale amenities you need paired with the charm of a historic cabin. My husband and I enjoyed the coziness of the beautiful stone fireplace, having morning coffee in the rockers on the porch, and warming up with a soak in the tub. ||||During our stay, we enjoyed incredible brunch and dinner experiences. Our servers were warm and attentive, and the pace of service was spot-on. The meals were unbelievably delicious (some of the most memorable dishes we have had the pleasure of enjoying!). We had wonderful encounters with Nove, Hannah, Christian, Jessica, Cara, Laine, Chef Jeb, and Chef Angie. Every team member we interacted with made us feel welcome and cared for. ||||We unexpectedly had the opportunity to take a property tour with Tracy, who took the time to show us incredible views of Maggie Valley and Cataloochee Ranch. She was so wonderful and proud to show us around, and even drove us to meet and give treats to the cows and horses. She was so comfortable and fun to be around - this truly ended up being a highlight of our stay.||||We also enjoyed a watercolor class with Elena! She was so charming, sweet, and knowledgeable, walking us through basic techniques and allowing us to try our hand at painting Appalachian mountainscapes. This was a fun, hands-on class and we enjoyed Elena's company and conversation as much as we did trying something new. ||||This was such a special stay, and we are so appreciative to everyone at Cataloochee Ranch for making this an unforgettable trip. We can't wait to come back!
