My case manager John is awesome! but...was told the director said they aren't paying my hotel, like they're supposed to (for no good reason). Only my rent, when I find a place. These organizations get millions from the VA to house vets! I am very upset & disappointed about this decision & it should be against the rules!

This is a 5 Star, High Quality organization that helps Veterans who may be struggling with Life challenges. In the early spring of 2020 (just as the Pandemic hit the USA), I had to stop working due to kidney problems and soon began to fall behind on my rent.

I contacted my local VA office and told them of my situation. A couple days later, a rep (Ms. Tucker) from Veterans Services of the Carolinas contacted me and immediately began working to assist me so I would not face eviction. Through the organization's work, they caught up all the delinquent rent right away and offered other assistance too.

Over the next 7 or 8 months while I got the medical help needed to stabilize my kidneys, Veterans Services of the Carolinas regularly checked in on me and covered the rent. Without them, I'd likely have been homeless and may have never been able to get the medical care needed.

I highly recommend this organization to all Veterans.

I have worked with this team on several occasions. Their dedication to serving veterans regardless of background is unparalleled. Whatever has happed has happened, wherever you come from is where you came from, what happens today and from here on is VSC's driving force. I would never hesitate to recommend them to any veteran (regardless of branch, race, religion, etc.) or family member. If you need help, and want help, call them.

They denied me services based on the fact that I was not African-American. Race is a factor when determining per rating scale they use.
