I was extremely disappointed with Kat McReynolds' handling of a build in our neighborhood. Unfortunately, her approach was unprofessional and lacked the necessary communication and consideration for our community. As a small, close-knit neighborhood, we asked her about the project and she was vague and then flat out lied about what the project was. We would have loved transparency and welcomed additional housing opportunities. Unfortunately, that’s not what happened.

Additionally, critical utilities such as water and power were disrupted without any prior warning, and both directions of our road were closed without notice—on a day when I was bringing my husband home from the hospital. This lack of coordination caused significant inconvenience and hardship for residents.

While I am a strong advocate for sustainable building practices, the manner in which this project was managed had a prolonged negative impact on our community. To make matters worse, Kat’s van and a car she owned remained parked in our already limited street parking for months, despite Ms. McReynolds not residing in the neighborhood.

Overall, this project was executed with a disregard for community engagement and logistical planning, resulting in frustration and unnecessary disruptions. I would never recommend this business to anyone. I hope future projects will be managed with greater transparency, professionalism, and respect for residents.

What a great organization! We are so fortunate to have such a unique organization based here in western North Carolina. The Alliance has been such an anchor for the green building community for so long. In the last few years they’ve also grown their programs to really cover so many more areas in sustainability and efficiency. We are so proud to be members of the Greenbelt alliance and support everything they do. Many thanks to all the hard-working staff and volunteers who make their programs a success!
