I and a group volunteered here for post Helene disaster recovery. We worked for four days with SP Team Leader Kaleb and were very successful helping several who had damage to their property. Kaleb and Samaritan's Purse is truly a gift from God and a very Top Notch organization. Will O.

I recently sought assistance from this organization during a difficult time, and let me just say, their thoughts and prayers department is truly unparalleled. The speed and efficiency with which they informed me that I was “in their prayers” was nothing short of miraculous. I mean, they didn’t even need to hear the full details of my problem before assuring me that the Almighty would handle it—eventually.

Need food? Prayers.
Need rent money? Extra prayers.
Need a real solution? Oh, sorry, they’ve already maxed out their faith-based support system.

I was especially impressed by how they reminded me that “everything happens for a reason” while simultaneously doing absolutely nothing to address the reason. It’s almost as if the true miracle is how much they’ve perfected the art of appearing deeply concerned while staying blissfully uninvolved.

And let’s not forget their outstanding follow-up! Weeks after my initial visit, they reached out—not with any tangible help, of course—but to remind me that God has a plan, and they’re totally rooting for me from the sidelines. Inspirational!

If you’re looking for an organization that excels at offering the emotional equivalent of a pat on the back while you sink, this is the place for you. Just don’t expect anything more than divine intentions.

Would I recommend them? Only if you’re running low on platitudes and need a fresh supply of empty reassurances. Otherwise, you might want to try, you know, an organization that actually does something.

Literally what they said to me, “we stopped serving it area on December 14” Guess God said that anyone else needing help is lying because obviously samaritans purse (aka tax fraud organization) fixed everything for everyone!

The most wonderful experience of all! We went as a group of 9 from Mount Airy Wesleyan Church. Everyone was so welcoming and inviting. Our first line leader was JOY, she was great to work with. Loved how every time a "line" got a box of 15 shoe boxes packed they would hoot and hollar with celebration! And how when a truck was loaded with 7200 shoe boxes the air horn would blow and ALL "lines" would celebrate together with hoots and hollars!! When our group left at 4 over 21,000 shoe boxes had been packed and prayed over that day!!!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

We experienced damage from going through the recent hurricanes and we were devastated by the damage that we incurred. We called samaritan's purse and was told that they would send someone to help asap. They prayed with us and explained how they were the hands and feet of Jesus and told us not to worry because they would help us fix it.

2 volunteers showed up about a week or so after I called and they viewed our property and spoke in great lengths to us about what they would do to help. They gave us hope for what they would do, they kept saying that they were here to help in Jesus's name.  They prayed with us and reassured us after they left that they would be back soon to help us clean up the damage. We never heard from them after that. I followed up with them and they said, oh, some of the work we can't do, but some we can do. We will contact you soon and set up a time. They didn't call back.

I called back again and spoke to a supervisor and another lady who was listening in on the call, they claimed they said that they could not help. I said well one of your volunteers told me that some of the work they couldn't do but some they could do. They said they would be contacting us to schedule a time to come and help. No one ever called and no one ever showed up. They wasted our time and gave us a lot of false hope which made our grief even worse, because they claimed they were here to help in Jesus name.  These people dishonored Jesus by making false promises, giving us false hope and then stringing us along and by making our grief worse by not doing what they were supposed to do and these folks are "supposed to be christians" that are here to help.

I didn't call them again, because it was obvious from this experience, that they were not here to help us and that they were just to give false hope and help "some people" but not everyone.

Volunteers have come to my neighbor’s house twice in about 2 weeks to clear debris. Twice they have driven through my yard and broken branches off of my trees so they could fit equipment through the driveway. The first time they parked cars in my driveway, blocked my private road, and destroyed my trees. Today they left a 6 foot long divot from bus tires in my yard, the driver had backed up several feet and stopped. I had to go direct the driver out of my grass. They may have been volunteers to help my neighbor but they showed utter disregard for my home and my property and I expect some form of response from Samaritan for the damage they did to my yard.

*Edit to reply to owner: the phone number they gave us to call is disconnected and out of service.* They came to clean up our neighbors yard while simultaneously destroying our yard in the process by not caring about how many trucks they backed up into our yard destroying the terrain. Also like 30 people showed up to clean up one trees’ worth of debris while blocking our tiny road with a bunch of cars and trucks. Seems like they all just wanted to act like they were doing something.

Operation Heal our Patriots Warrior Ride was a great opportunity to show our support and gratitude to those who have served our country. Thanks to Samaritans Purse and the Graham family for allowing this event to happen and for feeding all of us.
