Decent pools. Olympic and a kiddie pool. Both were clean. There is a slide and play area for the little ones. Lifeguards and admission is only 4 bucks. There is a lap swim from 9-10am and admission is only a dollar.

The renovations at the Rec Center on GA Rd have really updated the buildings look and feel. The staff are very proud of their "new" work space!! Maintenance and care of the facility is renewed and evidenced by the staff. The gym is the brightest star of the renovations - new floor, infloor pole setups, NEW lighting system, new windows, doors that work!
Now ... to keep this facility pristine, we, the community users MUST do our part, by wearing appropriate footware, no drinks/ food in gym.
Only 1 con - 50% storage erased in new look. But the staff shows a willingness to "find a way." "Willingness goes a long way in finding solutions. Thanks.

Could use better maintenance of the fields. Holes at home plate make it hard for batters because of the holes. You can’t get an even stance. No lines on infield and more holes throughout holding water. Luckily one of the groundsman was there to drag the water out of the holes, but we were still left with a muddy first base with a nice big hole. I am very glad we have a place like this to play, but would very much appreciate a little better upkeep. Thanks for the Macon County Recreation Park.

Neat and clean. Available to many clubs, groups and activities. Love the outdoor area that was added.
Would love to see swings in cooperated back into the area near the Community Building. Would LOVE to see a big splash pad with some seating for parents built at one of the parks. Downtown Morganton, NC, I believe has a nice one.

I attended the Macon County Fair with my sons 1st grade class this morning, 9/21/23. I was pleasantly surprised at the booths this year, especially the hand crafted wears and jewelry. I found it much more progressive than previous Coubty fairs and it was much more relatable to a wider variety of fellow humans...
I do have to say I didn't care for the Christian sec of the Fair as I found it rude to be approached multiple times by multiple men proclaiming they and their organized religion were going to SAVE ME! I felt profiled and it was uncomfortable.
