I don't even know where to begin. I am
A respite provider for a child that was sent to this "facility". Please do your research! This is NOT a licensed facility!!! Ask yourself why! What does that mean? What it means is no one is overseeing their "program". I have been involved with children who are in different therapeutic programs for years. Legit programs are overseen by clinical providers; this includes Doctors, Therapist, Psychiatrist. If you have a troubled child, seek appropriate help through licensed programs. There is licensing for a reason... To protect the children! I have visited this place and was appalled by what I found. I don't understand how these people can run such a program. I saw the dorm which consisted of a room similar to summer camp with 8 beds with old nasty mattresses. The clients reported that there was no supervision in the dorm. One of the client serves as the dorm monitor. The "home school" was in an unfinished basement of the owners and was dirty and musty. I was told of being "locked in the basement to spend time with God" and of "having to pray for food like cream cheese. Their website request food donations. I have heard of the clients being feed expired food that has been donated. I saw rotting fruit on a table and moldy bread.
I have copies of their rules and punishments. The consequences for breaking the rules are warped. There is the same punishment for having drugs as having "secular" music. One punishment involves withholding food as a punishment.
A licensed program normally last 6 months or so. Each client has a treatment plan and mandatory monthly meeting with the team of providers and case workers. There is a clear defined path for a child to work towards healing. I asked how a client would progress through the program and how long it would take. I was told that it is "when ever the Holy Spirit tells them". I am a Christian and I love the Lord. And he calls us to "Defend the weak and the fatherless;
uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.
Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked." Psalms 82:3-4. It does not call us to break children into submission.
If you are looking at this place as an option, I know you are probably desperate. But there are lots of licensed professionals and programs that can truly help your child!
If you dig enough you will find that the director was a car mechanic and decided after watching the 700 club to open this home for girls. I guess anyone can open a home!! Need a program... Check out established programs with great success like Eliada, Thompson, Alexander Youth Network or Barium Springs. Or contact you local DSS and ask for assistance finding a provider.

Not sure how this organization is qualified as a place of counseling or even home schooling as state laws would allow neither here. This is an unlicensed facility.
