My husband and I occasionally volunteer here. Our experience is amazing! The staff are so loving and caring for the welfare of the boys. It's awesome the positive impact they have on these kids. It's a great experience and you will come away with much more than you gave!

If you have a son age 7-17 and are looking for a positive growth experience for him, the Power Cross is EXACTLY what you need. They teach and coach to compete in Football, Basketball, Wrestling, and Baseball. They travel for games and tournaments, provide equipment and uniforms, they offer daily academic tutoring, weekly bible and discipleship studies, AND THEY FEED THEM A PLENTY! All for FREE! Awesome Football Field. Field is not visible from the main road and the road to the field is a little banged up. Caution while driving here. They are currently still working on this location but it was a great location. Diamond in the rough.

I appreciate what I see this organization attempting to do off the field. Their hearts are in the right place. However, when it comes to football, it has prioritized the sport over the well-being of very young children. Children below 7th grade should play flag football, not tackle. The brain is undergoing critical developmental processes during childhood and adolescence that may be compromised by repeated head hits. Football, with its high incidence of concussion i.e brain injury/trauma..., causes the majority of sports-related brain injuries among our nation’s youth.

Natalie and the rest of the team at Power Cross have a true passion for what they do. Growing up in Statesville and now being a young professional, it's amazing to me to see local businesses and organizations do so much great work for so many people. Power Cross is an organization that has positively impacted the lives of some of my closest friends 🙂
