These people have a heart of gold. For a while in my life I was destitute and homeless so I have utilized services like yokefellow multiple times. The helping center is set up in an extremely positive and user-friendly environment. They truly care about the community and the services they offer especially the food bank or of exceptionally high quality. The thrift store next door is staffed by some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. I actually worked there for about 6 months when I first moved to the area a while taking part of a treatment program for alcoholics and those with substance abuse issues. During my brief employment at the thrift store as well as my current and continued utilization of the helping center services has anyone ever brought up my past history of substance abuse and alcoholism except once when they were inquiring about services for a loved one. I can't say enough positive things about Tommy, Veronica ,Robin, and even Mark( thrift store employees ) ;as well as, the ladies and their volunteers at the helping center. They truly are the friendliest people on the planet! Well, maybe not to plan it but at least Statesville anyway...
