Stopped in on February 2nd. Very loud live band. Had two beers and never received a menu or had someone take our food order in over an hour. I was a visitor from another lodge. Did not feel welcome. I have visited many lodges in various states and never ignored like this. Not a good experience.

A very popular place to listen to music, dance, have a meal, hangout or have a cocktail. The LAST OF THE CLUB SCENE from the 80's the Newport Elk's Lodge is a throwback to the "hey let's go dancing and meet people" scene from the 80's/90's! Fun, fun, fun! But, you have to be a member, so join up and start having some "retro fun"... Sunday brunch (best in Newport), Thursday Steak night, Monday night "Price Fix Dinner" (chef special), this place 'KILLS IT'!

Addendum #2: Dennis did call my brother and was apologetic . While I am happy they value customer service enough to call and follow up, my review still stands because it was still a very unpleasant visit.

Time to revisit your mission statement Elks Club.

This Fraternal Order was founded “To promote and practice the four cardinal virtues of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity; to promote the welfare and enhance the happiness of its members; to quicken the spirit of American Patriotism and cultivate good fellowship.”

The bartender was awful and rude. We have never felt so humiliated and dehumanized in our lives.

There were 8 of us, my brother is a member. It’s 7:11 pm. Since no one said BOO to us and we were 8 people, we decided to sit down and move 2 tables together. Bartender screamed “IF YOU move the tables move them back!”

So then my brother walks to the bar, he is literally ONE CHAIR AWAY from the sign that hangs from the ceiling and reads:
“ORDER DRINKS HERE”. One chair I kid you not.

The bartender says “If you want to order drinks you need to be here points to the one chair under the sign. (He points to chair next to my brother’s)

Then he says, “If you want to stay there then sit down !”

I have no idea what we did wrong? We were literally there all of 5 minutes.

Was it our skin color? Tell me what upset you sir ?! I don’t really understand . We were literally there 5 minutes.

We LEFT, went to Yard House and our server Sage was the best!

ADDENDUM: I sent a letter to the Elks Club NB and supposedly Dennis the manager will get back to us. We will see

One of our favorite places! They have awesome events and activities (pool and shuffle board inside), Chris and the other bar tenders are SOOO AWESOME, the live music is unreal (the bands are always top notch), and the people here are awesome. May great times were had in this place, and many more are to come. Become a member today and you’ll see why! Thanks Elks, rock on!

Love this old school Bar. Great food, Great views. Right next to to Nobu for fraction of the price. Live band every Friday and Saturday. Become a member or find a member to invite you in. 👍😂😉
