We had attended for 11 years until moving out of the city. Solid teaching and all of the pastors are available when you need them. Having been involved also behind the scenes on two committee's the members are wonderful to work with. I hope others send up the reviews as WHCC Morgan Hill.

I attended this church back in 2007 as a 7-8 year old with my younger brother and single mother. I absolutely loved the sermons, bible studies, and teachers. The sermons were Bible focused and really pushed my knowledge and my faith. Even after all of these years, I still remember how much I loved attending Sunday school (I even still have the books we used during our classes!)

Then my parents got divorced. And this was no typical divorce. Not only did my father cheat on my mother with literally hundreds of women, but I personally called the police on him multiple times for domestic abuse (he beat my mother and choked my little brother). My mother (who taught at this church and was heavily involved in the community) told Pastor Burchfield that we had a court ordered restraining order against Michael, and she begged him to not allow him to attend, at least not the service we attended. She told him that she could show him police reports filed against him for theft, stalking, and domestic abuse. My father was not a safe man.

What did Pastor Burchfield do? He told her that SHE was the one in the wrong. He told her that he had a conversation with Michael and "knew" he would never have done those things. He believed she was the troubled one. In response to my mother offering to show the police reports his exact words were "I don't need to see this so-called evidence." You see my father was a charmer and on paper, he looked like an astounding guy, so Pastor Burchfield took his word over my mothers. He then told her that it would be best for us to no longer attend. He did not support us. He turned away a single mother heavily involved in the church and two children under the age of TEN!

So what happened after that? Well Michael of course immediately stopped attending after we were kicked out. He did what he sought out to do, ruin our lives. He also relinquished his parental rights and has not paid a single penny in child support. He broke into our house, installed spyware into our home desktop, continued to stalk us (or have his friends stalk us) and lied to everyone about my mother's character. It didn't stop until we finally moved out of California.

So, Paster Burchfield, if you ever read this, know that I remember and I'm sure you do too. After all, when Michael was arrested for breaking and entry, he called YOU to get him in jail. And yet, it was us, the victims that were no longer welcome at your church. It was so heart-breaking that I, a little 7 year old girl, remember it to this day. I will never forget how you or the church treated my family, the very people God instructed the church to protect and provide for.

Psalm 82:3-4: "Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked."
