4 hrs of an amazing hike on such a variety of awesome rock formations and lava formations as well. Great views and safe for people who love to hike solo. Highly recommend this place and I am certain to go back soon with more time available for the Spring loop.

My family of 3 (including our 3 year old son) wholly enjoyed this area. We visited on 3/17, after a little rain earlier that afternoon. Granted, we only went as far as the fork, but it was a fun and decent trek there and back again with easy rolling sections in the trail and turns. It was a bit windy, but not a big issue for us. We'll be recommending it to friends who also have kids as it is an easy hike for them...and with lovely view of the desert landscape. Only downside is that there is no restroom.

Well-maintained facilities for picnics and well-marked trails. Sawtooth is now open. Dog friendly! 🐾 Visited both main entrance @ Pipes Canyon Rd. & new Sawtooth trailhead off Kees Rd.

Interesting natural area not far from Pioneertown CA. Rocky hills/Mountains surround the parking area with Trails leading out to them. Pretty lonely when I was there late afternoon on a Monday. Many desert wildflowers blooming

Pioneertown Mountains Preserve is a nice preserve to visit with two large loop trails and some unique scenery and historic sites. There is an old homestead site ruin and petroglyphs along the main loop trail, and a creek which runs through the large wash. Worth a visit to go hiking if in the area.

We did the Chaparrosa Spring Loop. Beautiful and easy hiking. Saw rabbits and quail which was fun.

Solid place to go hiking. Had a bare half-day there. Went there after learning, in December, that Whitewater was still closed and asking the rangers there what other places Wildlands had in the area. I did an hour or two at Big Morongo before heading out there. Not as scenic as Joshua Tree, true, but scenic enough, decent enough, and free (Parks Pass had expired), plus no lines, unlike the Joshua Tree city entrance to the park.
