My eldest is 12 and youngest is now 2. I have used this park for the kids since my first was 18 months old. I’ve used the tennis courts and track here for 20 years and I have never felt anything but safe when doing any of the above. It’s never ‘packed’, and often almost empty as far as the kids areas go. It’s kept clean and any issues with equipment have been fixed almost immediately once they’re alerted if such an issue. One of the few public places I never hesitate to go to alone with or without my children and I feel completely safe and don’t worry about what my child may find or pickup. Thank you GSCC for giving us ONE clean and safe space to still take our families to in our area!

While the park will fill the bill for many high energy activities both personal and community, it will provide for your very own personal or required leisure time to simply relax and enjoy calm and peaceful outdoor areas for lounging while having a picnic or quiet meditation or whatever fits your needs for decompressing from a world of chaos, or take a leisure stroll along the nicely paved, level and meandering walking trail. No matter how you choose to spend that time in the park it's up to you as to what you do. This park has absolutely beautiful outdoor areas.
I haven't met the community center's staff but they do make sure the grounds are clear, clean and manicured and the equipment clean and renewed and the facility in tip top shape ready for the next person or group of people to enjoy. But I'm not entirely sure what their policy is when it comes to after-hours use rights for disabled persons who suffer from intense anxiety, inability to be around other people without having anxiety attacks or seizures, and is limited to only nocturnal outings? A lot of parks although closed from dusk to dawn will allow after hours use to the disabled but it varies greatly from park to park and state to state. Many have opted to remain open 24-7 and some added restrictions on use during the overnight hours.
Just for consideration, it's difficult to find safe outdoor spaces and places for general public use during the overnight hours. It would be nice to see more safe places open for use during these times.
Thank you,
Donald & Sondra Talmadge

Edited 5/30/2023 to say that a new playground has been added.

This park could use a little updating as far as the playground equipment is concerned, but the walking trail is nice, and there are plenty of shaded areas which make for a more enjoyable outing. Tennis, basketball, and new pickleball courts add to the fun.

I used to love walking the track but I got tired of dog mess being everywhere. There are signs that says no pets or bikes allowed. That's all I ever ran into.
