They case workers are clueless to any actual child support policies or guidelines. Extremely low work ethic to help clients and more of a need to extort money from fathers. This agency is truly an atm for the common wealth and needs to be investigated by the government. I’ve paid child support everyday of my life since my child was born 20 years ago and his mother is on drugs and fails to show up for court yet I’m obligated to still pay for the next 11 years

My case worker changed multiple times and always have to explain my situation over and over to a different person. I have had full custody through the courts signed by a Judge for my daughters and sent in the paperwork as well as talked to multiple individuals who give me no valid explanation as to why I’m still paying child support for my daughter who I have had full custody for for going on 2 years. It’s as if sectaries and case workers purposely are against fathers and give as little as possible effort to resolve serious situations. One out of 10 of My case workers told me she has never delt with a case like mine before in her life and stated that she knows that it’s wrong but yet fixed the problem. They also made a mistake before by almost having a whole random women file child support on me who I never even met before or know if it wasn’t for me to catch it through the mail my checks would have been garnished for a women in VA somewhere named “miss badi “ that literary was the name on the letter of the women in the mail of child support order. The whole department needs to be fired they are lazy and give little no attention to whats really going on. On top of that taking almost a month to reach the correct person due to vacation or time off.

I'm a non-custodial parent and been paying my support faithfully. Now my child has turned 18 since December of 2023 and about to graduate in June 2024. I've called and sent message on portal. I was told that Child Support will continue until end of June which I was fine with that. They said they made a note to stop support as of 6/30th HOWEVER I have not received any documentation or message back via portal that reflect this information. Also, my account shows next payment date July 1ST.

When called customer service was rude and short as if i have done something wrong.. Anyone else experience this issue?

Absolute scam. I have custody of my son and have been providing for him and our family since he was born. Somehow I still have a case and now it’s hit collections because I received no prior correspondences to dispute.

I havent been able to talk to my case manager for 3 weeks. They are supposed to send me a new contract so I can sign my new payment arrangement. I think it's in everyone's best interest to call the ATTORNEY GENERAL OF VIRGINIA. I ALSO CONTACTED THE NEWS MEDIA. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. THEY WANT US IN JAIL, WITHOUT LICENSES, WHICH COST MORE MONEY TO THE STATE. ITS A RACKET. ITS HIGHLY ILLEGAL AND UNETHICAL. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE IS NEXT.

I have been working on my husband's case by collecting/emailing paperwork, making phone calls on his behalf, due to him working nights and his schedule.
I keep logs of who I've spoken with, when, and copies of when, where, and what was sent because they do not update their systems in a timely manner and constantly give contradicting information.
Documents from other state dcfs offices are not handled in a timely manner leading to incorrect records, even though confirmation is given that they have them a month prior.
This department is a joke-unless they are adjusting your payment to pay more, they are as fast as dead snails.
EDIT: STILL 1 STAR!!
After supplying the office with the application to adjust the child support due to extreme life changes, along with the necessary paperwork on the updated employment information, w2 form to relfect all that, the request was denied. Why? Because it was in the 3 year review period from when they last updated it. An income drop of over 61%, with 2 other dependant children in this inflation and no change to support when the father is making less. Does that make sense when it would qualify on their forms? No.
They make no sense. Horrible! Horrible! Horrible!

They don't help find the non-custodial parent and they penalize me for not knowing where the non custodial parent is or his information and the agency is supposed to be doing it and then they keep not contacting me about my case and continue to be negligence with contacting me and trying to find them

I have had nothing but bad experiences working with child support enforcement. If they say they are going to do something, its a safe bet to assume it will not get done.
