This club has generously donate their space several times for the community elementary school. The facility is cozy and convenient. Nice kitchen. Great place to watch a sunset. Lots of parking. Don’t miss the historical pictures on the second story. This place is an Alviso gem.

It was a cool place for family and friends to party! You can have food catered and there's an inside bar with space to move around as long as there's only 50 people max. 70 is the max, but it'll be too crowded. There's not too much parking, but you can park in the street.

From Guadalupe river and The South Bay Yacht Club, to Alviso Slough and Alviso Slough trail.

As for nature Bay side, you'll find some here. There were two pairs of White Egrets, birds, some blooming wild flowers, an unusually placed by nature fig tree with baby figs on it, right next to the Gautalupe River, you'll also see people jogging by and you might be lucky to see some boats coming back in. There's also a plaque telling a little bit about Mountain Charlie.

Wonderful location and such a welcoming crowd! The sunset views are spectacular and idea for some great photo opportunities right on the water. Parking could be a challenge but not impossible. I hope to be back to enjoy future gatherings!

An amazing habitat for migratory birds just minutes away from our homes! Beautiful vistas, nice long trails and beautiful birds (including the world's smallest sandpipers) all in our backyard! The host (Dean) and his amazing team welcome you like old family friends and are always willing to go the extra mile to make your experience memorable! 😍

Private club, entrance only by invitation. Available for rent. Full kitchen facility with rows of tables and benches for dining. Appropriate for corporate or group functions under 100 people. Historic building full of relics on exhibit. Docks mostly silted in. No yachts.

The South Bay Yacht Club is one of the oldest yacht clubs in Northern Californis. Founded in 1888, it has survived and still operates in its historic clubhouse built in 1903. Visiting the clubhouse is like a time warp. Historic photos dating back to 1906 are on the walls which tell its history. It is a wonderful place to hold a special occasion and the club may be rented.

Alviso was an incorporated city until merged into San Jose in the 1960's. Much of the early history of this place can be seen in a drive or walk through the San Jose Historic District where the South Bay Yacht Club is located.
