I had a horrible experience living here!!! It was during Covid and I was doing Uber as work and they kept telling me I had to find a real job! During this time I was using a lot of hand sanitizer and sanitizer spray/wipes and from that it got into my system and I tested dirty for alcohol at a 0.001 over the limit!! I don’t even drink but my family and I were kicked out!!! I got a lawyer but since the lawyer I got worked with this company and the owner he decided to drop my case after a talk with the owner! I’m not sure if their discussion but he definitely changed his mind about working my case after they spoke!! The lawyer was going to bat for me at 1st but after the talk him and the owner had he contacted me and said he can no longer work my case! I don’t know why the lady who tested me decided to send my pee to the lab for further testing because that was never standard procedure any other time I had to randomly test! My urine passed the test I front of her so she went out of her way to send my pee into the lab!! They even slandered my name by telling my roommate I was some type of uncontrollable violent individual and had her move out of the house we lived in together! I was the “grounds keeper” and was giving that duty due to my well behaved demeanor while I lived there! I had keys to everyone’s apartment and did house checks every night to insure all residents were at home. Then all of a sudden after the dirty test I became a so called out of control evil person! That doesn’t even add up! Needless to say this place did not have my best interest instead they added extra stress onto my life. I was already homeless due to domestic violence and they made me homeless again over a false positive alcohol test!!! I wish I can sue them cuz I definitely would!!!

I just want to extend my gratitude to Gina and Patty over at CCH! You accepted us into this program during the most tedious time of my life! You helped provide us with essentials like diapers, wipes, hygien products, clothing as well as gas and groceries! Those item alone cost hundreds of dollars and you don't realize the definition of the word scary until you are pending homelessness with a child! Most importantly, I was never treated poorly by anyone in this program. The current staff gave me the biggest thing I needed which was hope, the girls on the site where lived were some of the best women

Colette's children home has great services and I would highly recommend this place to any woman looking for shelter. They are really compassionate about helping people and it's the best transitional housing in Orange county. I really give this place 5 stars. Laticia Cabrera is a great case manager.

I was at Colette’s children’s home for almost a year. I see posts about people saying bad things about McKenna and art. That is not right. Yes some of the housing locations were in poor condition but they did their best to fix the problems. I got kicked out for drinking but my son and I still got houses. We have had our housing for two years. You have to understand the rules. The 80% of your income is not a bad thing. If you didn’t receive your money back it is because you haven’t called them. They clothe you and give you staters brothers cards and well as gas cards. They don’t ask much of you. Just to follow the rules. The owner is by the books and very strict but he is a good guy. All of those case managers work hard to the best of their ability. The program is not that hard. Colettes children’s home is a safe haven for women in need. All you have to do is communicate with them and they will do their best. Come on ladies the bad reviews are rediculous. They give you bus passes. If it is an urgent need go to the office and tell them something is wrong. They don’t ask much from you just your sobriety and cooperation.

UPDATE: 5 years sober after leaving Colette’s

This organization saved my life. I left an abusive relationship leaving everything I owned behind. I was living in sketchy motels because, it was all I could afford. I finally ran out of money during covid and, therefore I couldn’t even get into a homeless shelter. By the grace of God I was referred to Colette’s House by my councilor Emily at the time because, she knew my only option was to sleep in a storage unit I rented. Two days later I was in. I had Lacy as my case manager and, I can’t say enough wonderful things about her. She’s amazing. I remember the first day she brought me to the house I would be staying at. It was so nice. I literally cried tears of happiness asleep that first night. I was finally safe, I could shower, I could eat, I was going to be okay. This place gave me the tools and, the help that no one else has ever done for me before to better my life. Fast forward less than 3 months later I had an apartment, a great job, my sobriety, lots of new friends, A SUPPORT SYSTEM, and a better future. Fast forward 3 years later and, I have a house, a family, a job, and my sobriety. I’m not sure where I would have ended up without them giving me a chance but, thank you! I will be forever grateful to everyone at Colette’s house and, a special thank you to Lacy for everything you’ve done to help me. ♥️

I loved it here!
If you want to change your life around, come here. If you want to become a better parent, come here and take it serious. The reason why some of us mothers fail to give are children all the necessities of life is because we come from unsupportive backgrounds and not the best role models. No one showed us. This place will help you gain back control of your life, by helping you maintain self-discipline

This place has helped me take life seriously so I can be a Mommy my son is proud to have. I left with with thousands saved up, a beautiful home and even help with my new home. I feel extremely blessed. Thank God for this haven!

Let this be a real and honest review 💔😔 I see so many negative reviews and I feel they're out of spite, this program has helped my mother greatly. She is doing amazing now thanks to this program, They have my family's thanks. YOU WILL SEE BAD REVIEWS but I believe those people were let go EARLY ON for certain reasons due to their strict policies. You must not drag your feet, you will be given help and the program is STRICT and if you are not ready to be better or seek help then allow others to take that position if you are not ready. 🤌
