The community center reopened in May 2024, but several issues have persisted. The front desk is poorly located, making it feel unwelcoming to visitors. Due to ongoing building issues, the pool and other facilities are frequently closed. I have been submitting requests for classes geared toward working adults since the center’s reopening. While we’ve finally received a few, the response has been slow. When I raised this with the supervisor, Rondell, he told me I should find the teachers for my own classes and even suggested I teach them myself. He also mentioned that it’s difficult to find instructors, despite the availability of classes in nearby West Menlo Park. The website is spotty at best. If you want good WiFi go to West Menlo Park Library.

The place is very nice! Amenities wise, this place is rocking it.

However, the admin side on things in the background is lacking as wifi was not properly set up, causing even some staff to struggle with their connections.

Class schedule, monthly pass, and rentals situation are only partially sorted out, making it challenging for the community to maximize which this center has to offer.

Also, the AC is almost non existence during this heat. Would be wise to crank up the AC so there is can be an accessible cooling center for Belle Haven residents.

There are lots of potentials, the city just needs to get it figured out.
