Disclaimer: I volunteer at Nine Lives
I decided to volunteer at this cat shelter because I saw the dedication and care the staff give to the cats! Nine Lives has a cat enrichment program where each cat gets playtime and attention each day, with a special focus on those who may be a bit more nervous or have higher energy needs. Each cat has toys and a bed to play and rest in during their time here, and cats who do well with other cats also get put in larger rooms where there's ample cat trees and toys to play with. For adopters, we make sure to answer all their questions and understand what they're looking for in a cat, and to make sure they can spend the time they'd like with potential matches. Volunteering here has been amazing and I can't recommend Nine Lives more!

This is a fantastic place! Cats are well cared for and have ample opportunity for enrichment and medical care! If you’re on the lookout for a cat this is a fantastic place to be! They often take overflow from shelters across the bay, and you’ll be able to find some of the sweetest companions here. Also great volunteering opportunities if you want to learn more about cats!

We got Luon and he is the perfect addition to our family. The adoption center had plenty of pretty cats to choice from. We hit the jackpot cause he is sweet, playful, and a lovebug. He gets along fantastic with our two other dog kids.

Fantastic shelter to adopt your future cats/kittens from. They have dedicated volunteers that socialize the kitties, while providing care and enrichment for the duration the kitties are housed at the shelter 🙂

They do a great job taking care of cats no matter their status. This is a no-lill shelter. They're closing down this location and moving to a nearby one, but still have their other small location at Jefferson (it's a cat clinic with a couple cats for adoption)
