Peninsula Associates is absolutely the best, most personalized speech therapy service we have experienced over the last 5 years! We have gone to Stanford Childrens Health, Speachy, Babble and a couple of others with two of my kiddos. We wish we had found Peninsula Associates earlier! We have found them to be leaps and bounds above all other therapy services:

Danielle Samson, the founder and owner of Peninsula Associates, is an incredible combination of visionary and practitioner, and she took on my son when he was a 2 year old with serious speech challenges. At our first appt she pointed out a tongue tie and other eating challenges that 2 other speech therapy services had missed after seeing my son for MONTHS! Within a couple weeks his tie was corrected and chewing and eating habits fully normal, something that will have a lasting impact on his health for the rest of his life. Danielle's insight and recommendations have likely extended his lifespan and quality of life.

His speech development made huge strides under Danielle's and her other therapists' supervision and we are so immensely grateful to them for making it an enjoyable, fun experience for my son. He adores his therapists and has built wonderful relationships with all, looking forward to each of his sessions.

Do not waste your time with any other speech therapy service in the area!

PA has been around for decades and has always had amazing speech therapists. We have been with PA for 12 years and have nothing but great things to say. Communication has always been excellent. Parent input has always been celebrated and incorporated immediately. Collaborating with other professionals on my child's team has always been requested and received with great enthusiasm. I have never felt that my child was "just another client" at PA but that his SLP and others were really invested in his progress and him as a person. My child is medically complex and has several disabilities, and I love that SLPs at PA always see his Abilities and not his Disabilities first. They go over and above for my child every day. My child has been seen for speech, feeding/swallowing disorder, AAC, and AT at PA. He has received some traditional speech therapy there, but most of our experience is with the speciality services. PA has done multiple amazingly effective AAC evaluations for my child which has allowed us to get complete funding for his very expensive AAC devices and AT equipment. He is seen for AAC therapy which has taken him from a non-communicator to a child who can write poetry with his device. Their AT specialist helped us get the right equipment to make his AAC device perfectly accessible and also helped us with lots of educational accessibility. He has been seen for feeding therapy and made loads of progress from not eating solids to eating meals of close to age appropriate food. When nobody else believed that my son would ever be able to communicate effectively, be in general education, or eat, but PA did! In fact, they challenged him (in fun ways) to progress more than even we, as his parents, thought would be possible. Thanks in large part because of their advocay for my son during his IEPs, he has been in gen ed and thriving. I simply couldn't be happier with the progress my child has made, the level of genuine care for his development, the customer service level, and most of all treating my child as a whole person who has genuine strengths and things to contribute to this world.

These are not services we currently utilize, but I was really happy to hear about all of their other specialities including myofunctional therapy (inc tongue tie), lactation, gender affirming speech therapy, fluency, and more. When a practice is able to cover all of these therapy areas, you know that their staff all have more experience and advanced training, which makes it much more likely that you will find a great SLP, than clinics that only do traditional speech therapy and hire really green people.
This means that Peninsula Associates SLPs are able to work with clients with a variety of different, and sometimes more rare treatment concerns, right here in our community. Having to drive to SF or SJ for a specialist takes so much time out of an already busy day for a child who has lots of needs or a busy adult.

PA has been the very best provider we have ever worked with for our child, and we couldn't imagine going anywhere else!
