Deceptive advertising and practices. Their website implies you can obtain full medical services here but once you get there they change that tune very quickly. Apparently they are known by other offices to do this, wish they would just be upfront with what services they provide instead of trying to trick women into coming in thinking they will have full access to abortion services.

Edit to add: As you can see from the response to this review they can't even be bothered to get a first name right. It truly shows how little they care about their patients. And they do not, in fact, provide any referrals, that's a lie.

Since moving to California I have had a hard time finding a doctor in Ukiah. I stumbled upon Mendo Lake Womens Clinic and asked them if they could do some routine testing for me.
During my appointment it was apparent to me that the clinic was here for nonjudgmental healthcare. The ladies that I worked with went through every single detail of different types of healthcare and made sure I asked every question I could think of during the appointment. What stood out to me the most is although I was just there for routine testing, they wanted to make sure my emotional, physical, and spiritual health was taken care of solely based on the fact that I was their patient and they wanted to make sure I had the resources and information I needed. I could go on and on about how the clinic went above and beyond for me. They even made a list of doctors to help me find long-term care now that I am in Ukiah.
This is what healthcare should be. The ladies at the Mendo Lake Womens Clinic are doing amazing work and moving healthcare forward in northern California.

I visited this clinic for the first time today and was impressed. The staff seemed kind and like they genuinely cared about me. I like how they focus on a woman's emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing and wanted to make sure I was well-informed. I'd definitely come here again!

If you are wanting to choose abortion this is not the place for information! First off I came here to find out how far along I was after finding out very very unexpectedly that I was pregnant. I explained to them from the start that I had already made my choice to get an abortion. First they tell you they can get you a referral for this service (which they don’t!) BUT the part that took the cake for me was being given the wrong due date and wrong estimate of how far along I was! I was told I was 17 weeks by them. I made multiple phone calls trying to find out where I had to go to get an abortion because the places they told me to contact all told me they don’t do that there. Finally I spoke to planned parenthood who told me I would have to go to sf general to the women’s option center and they would be able to help me! So here I am at SF General and all this time I was thinking and believing I was now 18 weeks NO! I’m 22! SF told me as soon as I told them where I got my proof of pregnancy and my ultrasound date that this place is against abortion and is known to give women the wrong dates in hopes that they will be to far along to get the abortion and then have no other choice but to keep. That’s so wrong on so so so so so many levels. For a place to “claim” that they are all about making sure the mother knows all her options and will help and support in any choice they choose then do something like that?! Is just horrible! I’m so lucky that I followed my instincts and made all the calls I did to make sure I got this taken care of ASAP for myself and my family. But the real question is how many other people have you done this to?! How many others believed you and then it was to late for them?! For a “women’s clinic who prayed for me at the end of my appointment because they believe in god so much” y’all should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves and I pray that this place gets shut down before they ruin or almost ruin someone else’s life!

This clinic showed my wife very clear 10 week pictures of her ultrasound. They were able to calculate her due date accurately and tell her about her pregnancy. Very helpful center! The ultrasound pictures were the clearest we’ve gotten so far from any medical center.

If you value your privacy and right to make your own medical decisions, DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE.
Dr. Amy Bryant and Dr. Jonas Swartz state in the AMA Journal of Ethics, "CPCs should provide clear advertising and refrain from providing misleading and false information about abortion. Clear acknowledgement that no abortion referrals will be made would also be a step in the right direction. Until taxpayers can be assured that these centers conform to ethical standards of licensed medical facilities, offer sound medical advice, and do not lead to harm, states should refrain from directly or indirectly funding these centers."
This "clinic" is a CPC. So surprised that it is still allowed to be open after all these years. I wonder when they will start being truthful about who they are and what they do. I also wonder where their funding comes from because if it is granted by the government, it needs to be revoked.
Years ago, I brought a distraught young woman here. She was two weeks clean. She had permanently lost custody of her child. She had no place to live and no family support. She was 2 months pregnant and strongly felt that she was not ready to have a baby. She called Mendo Lake Women's Clinic and told them she needed to get an abortion. This place said they could help her. I took her in and the person we met with proceeded to bring out a tiny model of a fetus, pictures, etc., they even said she must get an ultrasound before the abortion (which is not true) The young woman that I had brought in had a funny look on her face and told the woman, "I told you I do not want this pregnancy, that I need to get an abortion. You indicated on the phone that your "women's clinic" is able to help me with the abortion and birth control. What you are doing right now is not what we talked about."
The young woman was really angry and for good reason. She had already wasted time waiting for the appointment and this clinic knew they were not going to provide her with the services she asked for. I think that this clinic should have to tell the truth --they are an anti abortion religious group. They did not care that this person told them, "I am a really bad parent. I do not know how to be a parent, my other child was taken away because of neglect and abuse, but you are trying to guilt me into keeping what amounts to a blood clot at this point and for what? So it can grow up drug addicted and live with poverty and trauma?" Needless to say we left. Statistically, Mendocino County has a teen birth rate higher than the state or the US. Also, we have a 30.8% rate of Adverse Childhood Experiences (major trauma), horribly high when compared with other California counties (CA Value: 16.87) There is a definite link to the two. It is no wonder when we have agencies such as the "Mendo Lake Women's Clinic" that lures girls/women into their business to try and force them to have a child that they are not prepared to have. They do this insidiously by prolonging the pregnancy, giving false information, preying upon the young and emotionally vulnerable, and other methods.
