I was turned away by this place when I first left my abuser. I was told I had to file a restraining order on my own. I went back years later to ask for help because the harrasment, threats and emotional abuse continued. Friends, coworkers and renters being harrased. Binders full of documents, they refused. I was told by the main lady (don't want to use her name on her, but I wrote it down) that emotional abuse and harrasment is too "complicated" and really there are no laws to protect people from this. Interesting, because in California you can sue for this. To this day, it's been about 5 years now I have custody of my child and my dog and I am still dealing with this individual even though there is a restraining order in place. Don't even get me started on the rude receptionist, who ended up getting an ear full by my friend who was initially the person who pleaded that I go back to them to begin with. She walked out of there shocked and angry that they wouldn't help me. Me not so much, I had already expected a no. Otherwise, I am sure they help some people. Their building is nice. 👍🏼

Our children were in a rough place, due to some abuse at the other parent's home. We were referred to Stanislaus Family Justice Center and had such a positive experience. The counseling helped tremendously. Very empathetic and knowledgeable staff.

The only reason why I give this place a star is because I need to in order to write a review. My experience here started when they were at the building on the same street as the library. I went seeking help from an abusive relationship, I was turned away and told they could only help me if I already had a restraining order. I filed a restraining order and for custody alone. I needed up with Judge who went against the advise of a mediator and sent my kids with their abusive father who is also using methamphetamines. I waited for a year for a trial. I borrowed $3000 to retain an attorney who I now owe close to $10,000 . I also ended up owing my ex close to $4,000 in back child support. Judge finally after a year of begging and after I offered my money to get him drug tested decided to do so. He came out positive for methamphetamines. I now have full custody, but the things my kids experienced with this unstable drug addicted person are imaginable. During the year of waiting my ex continued the psychological and verbal attacks. In person, in court, through social media, email, Pinterest, pandora, through coworkers and friends. I went through all of this alone. During this year I went back to stanislaus family justice seeking help and possibly seeking charges for someone who continued the assaults even with a restraining order, they took all my info and even keep all the binders full of messages and court papers to review. They have me the run around for about a month. Until I went down there to see what was happening. The main lady, i believe her name is Carol Sheeply, told me they could not help me because I now have an attorney. I asked her why they didn't help me when I initially came there a year prior, she said "that was then this is now". A close friend of mine called them because he was indisblief at what I had gone through and asked for when they would have a board meeting we could possibly attend to, the receptionist hung up on her because me friend refused to give her her name. I laugh anytime anyone suggest going to this place for help. My experience here was a joke, the people here are callous and I believe no longer have a heart in the fight for other humans. Whatever the reason was when they started here was, is long gone.

After much anxiety & indecision I finally went to STANISLAUS FAMILY JUSTICE CENTER for assistance regarding a very sensitive topic, THEY couldn't assist me, but assured me that they would refer me to another agency and have someone call me later that week... No call... Nothing... No follow up on a matter that definitely required one.. so question is do any of these services ACTUALLY HELP THOSE WHO REALLY NEED IT?

This place is a joke. They don't help. Government money spent so they can have empty desk and no answers. There website is lies. They didn't perform 1 not 1 thing they claim they will do. Its overpaid employees do nothing but sit and eat, eat, eat. They won't help at all.
