Urban Surf 4 Kids is truly an Ohana. The volunteers are kind & patient allowing our kiddos to slowly gain confidence while trying new experiences & enjoying the therapeutic results of the ocean . This is our 5th summer & my son went from super shy & afraid of the water, to being 90% independent. Surfing & the ocean has become his happy place. It’s great for him to have a sense of community & to learn he’s not “the only kid” who’s been in foster care/adopted & feel like a “regular” kid.
It’s a sensitivity that only this group understands.

Additionally, while the kids are submerged in activities, the care givers get a needed break while at the beach. No matter if 15 min or 2 hours…it’s beyond appreciated & needed. I HIGHLY recommend giving your kids (& yourself) this gift of a great experience. You won’t regret it!

My granddaughter 11, has been coming to Urban Surf since she was 6. They have guided her from a fear of the ocean to trusting embrace of the healing powers of surfing.
