JCF was asking us (San Diego non-profit) for months to create our profile on their website promising us better exposure to the donors, more grants, etc. We finally decided to try them out and created a profile. Guess what... we didn't get any grants, more than that one of the foundations that used to give us grants stopped supporting us because they let JCF manage their donations, and JCF decided to chop us out. When we tried to contact JCF to delete our profile we couldn't find "delete" button anywhere on their website. Than we called, but they wouldn't give our executive director neither phone number or email address of the person who is in charge of online profiles. Instead they offered to transfer the call to a voice mail. This is not how legitimate foundation operates. JCF is a total scam, and extremely damaging to the reputation of the real Jewish philanthropic community. I personally know three non-profit leaders who decided not to apply for $100,000 Cushman Grant because they don't want to deal with JCF. That tells you the whole story right there. Stay away from this scammers. They are information collecting agency that can't care less about Jewish community and it's reputation.

I am grateful for the help and support I have received from the Jewish Community Foundation. Yesterday I participated in the "Taking Grant Writing to the Next Level: Demystifying the Grantee/Grantor Relationship” workshop and it was a wonderful experience. Tons of information, guidance and advice for my non-profit, Voices of Our City Choir. I am actually excited to apply for grants now. 🙂 Thank you JCF!
