Most importantly, It is not how grand the building is! And how soothing and beautiful is Maison Park!
It is the loving, caring culture that permeates Regents Point!

We have now lived here for 13 months. It felt like home after 1 week. Regents Point is extremely friendly. This starts with the attitude of the management team and extends through most of the residents.

Regents Pointe's Windcrest facility was an answer to our prayers when it came to friendly, positive, professional staff who actually care for our mom (who suffers with dementia, severely handicapped and needs 24/7 care). The food is excellent; the facility is always clean. There are interesting activities planned daily, and they help even those who struggle to participate feel included. Mom has never complained about living at Windcrest and she feels safe there. I enjoy coming to see Mom at Windcrest because I am greeted personally by staff. It feels like we are a team. I am always able to find out from a nurse, or other staff, information about how my mom is doing. Very grateful we became part of the Regents Pointe Windcrest family!

The 6 1/2 years I have lived at Regents Point have been among the best years of my life. Being a nonprofit, we have more than 50 volunteer committees so residents are involved in all aspects of life. Administration is extremely capable and receptive to our ideas. We have all levels of care on our campus: independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care. It is so freeing no longer to have the exhausting responsibility of a home. If I need my windows washed, an appliance fixed, transportation to the doctor or dentist, IT help, or anything else, I put in a request and it’s done. Meanwhile, I’m spending my time traveling, participating in activities around here, walking to the nearby shopping center, or getting some exercise in Mason Regional Park which is adjacent to our property. Life doesn’t get any better than this!

My mother lives at regents point, and my father lived there until his death. The staff are very nice and seem to genuinely care. Residents are very nice too. Good facilities and location. Overall I recommend it.

My wife and I moved to Regents Point a little over two years ago. We knew that we were going to a very nice facility located near the UCI campus where we could easily walk to the shops that support the campus. What we didn't know was that we had a large group of friends that we had not yet met. We a happy here and glad we made the move.
We are part of a fairly large group of residents who visit and do other volunteer work at the assisted living and full scale nursing facilities on campus. In total about 20,000 hours volunteer work is provided each year. So those people who go to higher level of care than independent living get good professional care plus the equivalent of about 10 extra people who do volunteer work.
I submitted this review because I have been so impressed with the programs I see (when I am doing volunteer work there) being offered to the residents in the assisted living portion of Regents Point (Sunridge).

Expensive, Poorly Managed, with a Soul Crushing Culture. So disappointing.

Our senior parents invested $200k upfront, plus hefty monthly fees, to move into Regents Point (RP), a poorly run, fragmented continuing care community. Once our parents needed more care outside of independent living, we expended much effort trying to get RP to meet the basic terms of their contract, while watching our parents deteriorate in this environment. Finally, we moved our parents out, to a well-run assisted living facility at a similar monthly price with no buyin, where they thrived.

CONS
Very expensive buyin that makes residents feel trapped into staying
Three facilities (independent, assisted, skilled) are run separately and very siloed, not “continuing care”
Poor management at the highest levels operating in crisis mode
Lack of accountability by management when issues raised
High turnover of good employees
Toxic culture
Oppressive atmosphere
Poor quality of life for loved ones
Nursing / social services do not perform assessments as required
Nursing /social services do not follow care plans
Unreliable in providing basic level of services
Poor hygiene with loved one in soiled clothes, linens
Regular errors in medication management
Poor written and oral communication with residents and family members
Poor coordination with hospitals and doctors
Lack of clear roles and responsibilities of staff
Insufficient training of staff
Over reliance on student nurses
Regular billing errors
Human Good (Corporation that purchased them a few years ago) invests in facilities (i.e. new cash bistro bar) versus care. Not available to address issues.

PROS
Pretty campus backing up to a park
A few residents in Independent Living are engaged in trying to make a better atmosphere
