Many visitors appreciate the club's welcoming atmosphere, especially for those who are not members. The club hosts special events such as Kinderfest, which offers a unique cultural experience with live music, food, and traditional costumes. The environment is lively and enjoyable, providing a memorable experience for all attendees.

However, some guests mention that the walk from the parking lot is steep, which could be challenging for some visitors. The club offers a shuttle service for those with health-related concerns or difficulties climbing the drive, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the facilities comfortably.

Private club that welcomes non members twice a year. The walk from the parking lots is steep. There is a shuttle for those in need - pregnant, with small children, health related concerns for climbing up and down the drive. Went for Kinderfest in Sep. Had a great time dancing to a live band, drinking lots of beer, and eating pretzels, sausage, and tarts. Everyone was dressed up in traditional Octoberfest costumes. Looking forward to going again.

This is a hidden gem! Lovely place nested in the middle of the Muir Woods! There's an easy hike (0.8 miles / flat / gravel) with beautiful views to get there, the place offers board games, good beers, snacks and a nice patio! Everything is CASH ONLY, there's no ATM around.

They are a private club, usually not open to public unless their calendar lists a guest day, festival, or other event specifically open to guests. Make sure you check their website or FB page before heading there.

There's a limited number of tables and benches. You might want to bring a blanket or ground cloth to spread on the deck or ground.

Wow what a hidden gem! Definitely take the longer trail/hike up through the Dipsea Trail. It feels like the sound of music. Cash only and a very limited food menu on the public days so just make sure you BYO. I would also suggest bringing a blanket too as the benches fill up quick!

Amazing German mountain chalet in California. They serve beer and have board games. Very relaxed atmosphere this place is open for members only. Check the web site before going.

I visited the Tourist Club with a friend about 20 years ago, and maybe he was a member and I didn't know or rules have changed. Everything about this place is beautiful, though it's important to note that if it's not a festival or other event open to the public, you may run into some of the members who feel a need to let you know that as an outsider you are 'not welcome'. We stayed on the trail above the building, got a nice hike and will keep an eye out for the next public event or maybe we try to join a few working days to see if we too can become members.

Super fun location. Came for the Maifest event and was not disappointed. This was a large German event. The food was great. Lots of beer to be had. Being right next to Muir Woods, the scenery was spectacular. Watching the German dancing was awesome. Easy to get to if your willing to do a ~1 mile hike.

I believe only members can visit this place but a few times of the year they open to the public. In was able to visit on one of those times. Good beer, in the middle of the forest!!

You can become a member by volunteering lots of hours from what I heard.

We finally made the trip and we're not disappointed. We got there a little later than expected, so we had a long line to contend with. But the surrounding forest and the views while waiting helped take our minds off the wait. ‎And once we got our beer, the environment was even more magical. If you ever have time, this event is a must.
