I’ve had tinnitus and moderate hearing loss for several years. Previous exams have focused on the mechanics of the ear, ruling out underlying treatable conditions. I purchased some high quality hearing aids which helped with conversations.
However, tinnitus, my greatest quality of life concern, l was dismissed with “it’s in your head” and “stop drinking caffeine”. It continued to become more invasive in my consciousness, disrupting sleep, making it hard to concentrate at work, and upsetting any quiet time.
If any of this sounds familiar, I highly recommend a visit to Dr Novick at Silicon Valley Hearing. I found a wealth of information and resources and most importantly I was met with compassion. My tinnitus was thoroughly evaluated by discussing how it affects my life, by measuring how it “sounds” in the hearing-test booth. Dr Novick then explained the mechanisms of tinnitus, and reasonable expectations of tinnitus therapy.
I happened to be a good candidate for the Lenire system, so a followup was scheduled. I left with an informative book and recommendations, and best of all hope that some relief was possible.
The Lenire system, coupled with a some real information and proven techniques, has led me to a place where tinnitus, while present, is no longer intrusive. It has been about 6 months since my last visit, and I still am experiencing relief.
